All  build-up is very old,doing it up to semi- race spec in winter 1994/95
Thinking fast, go light!! and no rollcage cos it\'s damn heavy!:D
Only thing\'s missing was painting the engine bay
Nothing special looking car.
Will get more photos of the old things.

OOOOOH much better with clean and paint job,

its one of those things you may as well get done as very hard to do with the engine still in there, deffo more manageable as is :D

nice fuel cell! I\'m having one made for project FC, all I know is that it\'s a 20l cell so that means more frequent visits to the pumps!

Good Day all,
Got a Rx8\'s box oot of 56regs PZ,look very clean!!
white print dry well and starting to remove the exhaust to make room for the box.
Install old motor to see if the box is fitting in well or and planning where to modifythe body/fab new plates etccccc.
its left about 4" gap between box and the engine when the gearstick is lineup to the port.
No worry about it,going to make some blankets/fab a new plate!!.

Perhaps you could make a few splitters? I\'d take one off your hands for a good price. I\'m going to be making a cast of my splitter (http://img252.imageshack.us/my.php?image=s1030121cd1.jpg (http://img252.imageshack.us/my.php?image=s1030121cd1.jpg)) once repaired. I know they are on ebay for well over £100 so I\'d do them at a (comparitively very) good price, i\'d need to make a few first to get rid of the inevitable problems that would occur and then confirm a price based on materials and time.
Would anyone be interested?

is a straight bolt on job, anybody used the supra 6 speed

bolts onto the engine but thats about it I think.

Supra 6 speed is a lot more work ... don\'t think anyone is running a 6 speed Jason has a 5 speed in his rx2

Do you actually gain/loose anything from having the exhaust ports firing down there own pipes? (ie most systems are 2 into 1 into 2, yours is two pipes the whole way..)

 Just curious like :)

Just straight in, need wee jobbie on the rear /front mounting,
 Tranny/engine has been move backward\'s about 3.5"
Will modify the propshaft short on the lathe and weld the yoke
if using the 6 sp\'s tranny with turbo engine/N/A with standard fuel systems
The gearstick\'s position will 4" forwards from the port! cannot go backward inless, cut a hole at the firewall or install a  new fuel system that\'s bolts forward to the front!
Hope I\'m wrong.

Bett, i don\'t know as been seen all kinds of expriements with the self made exhausts systems and some boxes had been blowed up due to the build up  backpressure, too many stories to tell and it\'s funny sometime!!:D
The 2-2 system\'s sound like a sick V8 at idle and when it\'s reach the power band from 4500 up to 8500rpm, its sounds  like the half of 787B
"not sharp sound !"  but it\'s howl:cool

Hi Ian,
You will make more power by the exhaust joining.
There is a critcal length for the engine.
The diamter of the exhaust needs to be 2 and one 1/4 of an inch for each header pipe,then they should joing with a neat collector of minimum of 2 and one 1/2 of an inch.
The join should be around 89 to 94 inches from the engine,half way between the two would be perfect.
Regards
Carl

hi Carl,
have done that and the reason for 2-2 is for sound level for hill/sprint cars is
MSA\'s noise measured in dB
Section "G"
Hillclimb and sprint max at 2/3 max rev
0.5m = 110/108
2.0m = 98/96
8.0m= 86/84
The 2-2 system that have been used with Bridge ported\'s was sounding  98/103db with straight through  modify muffers (with cremic wool) and watertemp running cooler than 2-2-1.
The different is the sound that\'s oot of it is 2-2 = howl ,2-2-1= very sharp/sonic boom.

All that I want is no middle box,just rear muffer and  to keep the  scrutineers happy instead of

  Wake up the scruts:Snoring  say=" ah! mazda and the scrut\'s heids looking at all directions
"where the mazda!!", "ah! it\'s over there!"
Nazi jack boots marching  the Bee- line toward to me and say " Good morning Mr Duncan, how are you, your car fine?"
 me =  "good moooooring"," i\'m fine " and "yessssssss"
 scrut=Ah! good!, let\'s a loookkeee for the sound meter and rev to 2/3 okay!
Me= yessssssssss!
Me = rev ?
Scrut= 2/3
Me= foot down to 2,500rpm
Scrut= noo,more rev
me= okay and rev to 5.500 rpm
scrut = stop,stop,stop!
Me= okay!
Scrut= quite high!
Me= how high?
Scrut= mmmmmmmm. about 103 db.
Me- okay
Same saying in every outing!!!:Grrr
 Note>>All  scottish scruteers are  great blokes:D:god honest!!
