Hi all,
Got a leak of some description, loose hose and god know what else at the moment! not happy!
Taking it down to Super 7 Autos in Horsham on the back of a lorry on saturday. Nightmare....i just want my car back
anyway...rant over.
has anyone got or know of a picture of the engine that states what each bit is at all? Im just curious to know whats what really.
err youll have to be a bit more specific than that! Loose turbo hose? Loose vacuum hose? What are the symptons? Dont worry, Im sure Jason will do a good job on your car!
Out of interest, who are super 7 autos?
Chin up mate. We\'ve all been there at some point; questioning the sanity of owning a rex, but it\'s all worth it in the long run honest! Disregard anything your missus and bank manager might say about the matter.
You\'ll have her back in no time, driving around with a massive grin on your face as everyone stares at you as you BRAP BRAP BRAP by :D :D
one2watch - only sympton i can see at the moment is the shed load of fluid ****ing out the bottom of the engine when i start it up!
I\'m no mechanic but i reckon thats not a good thing!
Seeing as jason has come recommended, its heading down there!
brett - super 7 auots are aspecialist place as far as i know. they are based down near horsham.
teabagger - been having those thoughts since the weekend when it blew up on me. but bank manager/missus can go jump. i love this car and its staying for a while yet!
Any idea how to put pics on here and i can highlight what hose is loose too?

hi matey... you can use an image hosting site like //www.photobucket.com and upload your pics there and then just copy the link here.... or if you want I can put them up, just email the pics to kash_5@hotmail.com
hmmm...ok well does that fluid look like oil or coolant or fuel? fuel you should be able to smell. coolant will feel less slippery than oil if you get my drift.
Brett: //www.super7autos.co.uk right down by your neck of the woodsish.
Kevin, I\'ve uploaded the picture you sent
Cheers for that Kash.
Anyone got an idea what that that is for?
that big silvery thing is called a crossover pipe. Its prone to spltting causing a huge boost leak when it does. Is that the part which is leaking on your car?
yep...thats the one that is leaking. what is it for? its not spilt, its just come off the bottom but it is leaking a fluid. not sure what fliud though.
would it be petrol cos there is a strong smell of it when i turn the car over?
errr....assuming that im looking at the right thing, its a boost pipe which should only be carrying air! Not a fluid! sometimes they can have a small amount of oil build up in them but not enough to leak! Sounds like an odd on tbh....ive never heard of that crossover leaking fluid. Right next to the crossover is the water filler neck which might leak coolant....? could it be that?
hmmmm...this doesnt sound gooddoes it!
i guess i\'ll find out this weekend when it goes to the garage!
cheers for your help on this though
Just going back onto this subject quickly, the pipe that is highlighted by the red arrow - the one on my car is loose.
thats not right is it?
yeah it shoukdnt be looe...just tighten the hose clips that are on it
marvellous....
one2 watch - you use jason at Super 7 dont you?
indeed i do...my cars down there as we speak! any reason why you ask!?
Mines going down there next wedneday! Have heard good things about the place too....
Mine has a suspected boost leak (or other vacuum leak) and some strange noises coming from the turbos :((
dont worry im sure your car will be in safe hands! I wouldnt take my fd anywhere else now..... well thats a lie....i still highly rate Carl Hayward as well but it sure as hell wont go anywhere else within a 150 mile radius from me!
Jason at super 7 was recommended to me by someone on SJC so I drove up to see him yesterday to chat about a few things and options for the RX , he was really helpful and really does car about the RX community.
I have not had any work done yet but know people that have and are very happy with the results cannot recommend how helpful this fella is........... highly recommended.
Cheers
Nick
I\'ve chatted to Jason a few times, seems a cool guy. I\'d trust him I reckon.
Hey, BTW it doesn\'t sound too bad if it\'s a leak, could just a be a bit of tightening up of hoses and a couple of new gaskets!
External leaks I\'d be happier about than loosing water without any of it landing on the floor and being sucked into the engine! ;)
