Title: Who is doing what for "ROTORSTOCK"?
Post by: Carl on January 08, 2004, 10:44:40 PM
Hi All,
I was just wondering who is building cars for ROTORSTOCK and what they are up to?
It would be good to let each other know and if anyone is stuck or needs help, ask on here and if we pull together then maybe we will get some really good results that really put the rotary in peoples minds in the UK.
Kind regards
Carl:)

I am hoping to have most of the mods in place, only thing missing *SHOULD* be the single turbo.

Its my target at the moment aswell. We should have loads of powerful rotary\'s by then. I plan to have a van with loads of FD bits, and anyone is welcome to them if they break something
:) Which i\'m sure is gonna happen.

Lee BTW yer supposed to go in a straight line where possible up the strip not drifting (http://smilies.crowd9.com/contrib/ruinkai/crazya.gif) lol.
I\'ll have a play all going well but dont expect to be running much beyond standard although i should just about be in the black by then & eyeing up mods! (http://www.gamers-forums.com/smilies/contrib/lynx/orngwink.gif)lol

Does before we get there count? :D If yes, I intend to break my gearbox (I\'ll have a hollinger please, 6spd soup at a push) and my motor (I\'ll have a 20B c/o Amemiya-san if u could organise that too)...

Good man.

Can I have first refusal on spare clutch and 13b lump please Ross :)

Will you also be offering a \'fit while u wait service\' ????

I would much prefer to break stuff at Pod rather than Elvington this year - shorter drive home ;)

Bring it on.....

Max

I wasn\'t planning to do anything much performance wise (I made myself a promise to keep the car in the condition/state of tune it arrived in for a whole year before I let myself get crazy with it) but I was planning to do a few things to make it more reliable, and less likely to need anything from that van load of bits. :)

So what can go wrong in 1/4 mile? The Americans seem pretty keen on diff braces, apparently they help prevent wheel-hop which can do some fairly nasty things. I\'m not sure if that only applies to the monster high powered drag machines they often have over there though... anyone know if it would benefit a near-stock machine?

Is there anything else I could do to ensure I drive my car home, rather than tow it?

You can definately get hop even on a completely standard (engine-wise) FD.  I did once at a set of lights and it was really offputting.

All this talk of racing etc etc.  I got the fastest car etc etc My engine blew first etc etc .;) ;)

Is there a show \'n\' shine at Rotorstock, it would be good for the ones who concentrate on show rather than go to get involved.

Always great to see some quality show cars lined up, I also like the idea of punters voting on the best cars, rather than judges.

Would be great to vote on anything rotor, and maybe also a catergory for other Jap motors as they are bound to show up.  IS this happening ?  Easy way to get extra funds as you can charge an entry fee and get someone like zymol or simular to sponor it with some prizes.

Just a thought.

Clive,

Looks spot on, personally I cannot wait...

It is ages since I have been to a show at the avon raceway.  It is so handy for me as I live in Cheltenham - so not far to go.

Clive will you have different catergories for the show \'n\' shine - modified, daily driver, concours etc.

Will it be possible for people to enter through a website and get special permits to park in show area - colour coded etc.

I don\'t envy you mate it must be loads to sort out, If I can help pleaselet me know.  I have entered a few shows in the past and might enter the REX - depends on whether it is finished in time.

COME ON ROTORSTOCK...

Tom

Hi Brian,
Why not go the whole hog and try for a sub 10 second 1/4?
I think with the rocket and large bungee attached to the finish line not only will I be able to go really quick but I will stop quick and and even have the record for the most 1/4 miles done backwards and forwards in the shortest time!!!

:p :p :p  :p :p :p  :p :p :p  :p :p :p

Kind regards

Nice avoidance of the question Mr Hayward! :D

I\'d like to say I\'ll be running some thing but I\'m not tempting fate any more. My car will run when it runs, it\'ll take as long as it takes. If its not built well in time then it wont run for the sake of it thats for sure. Be nice to be able to watch all the other rotors about, should be some quick cars if all goes well.

No mate, I\'m trying to resist. I have too much going on and not enough time as it is. I HAVE to have the FD going before I consider any thing else. WEll, I WANT the FD going first any way.

Oh, and I\'m trying to kerb spending for a bit too, last year was a little expensive!! :( :( :(

Nothing I want more than a \'2, \'3 or \'100 but I\'m kind of ready to drive a Rotor again for a while now :D
