Title: E85 - ethanol
Post by: AndyGen3 on March 23, 2007, 02:51:46 PM
Does any1 know what mods you need to run this fuel?

Have heard loads of stories about burning out injectors etc

But is a simple remap all thats need??

Wud be very interested in gettin my car setup to run this as the best petrol we get in Ireland is 95! :Hammer

I know the only down side is the fuel consumption... And i think its cheaper than petrol anyway.. But wudnt mind if i got results etc..

You\'ll need to check the entire fuel system to make sure there are no natural rubbers in there (unlikely on a newer car) and replace as necessary

I\'m not sure what the standard injectors will flow but it is possible you will need a bigger set of injectors to cope

it is cheaper than petrol (but harder to get hold of in England at least) on a piston engine it allows you to run more power as you can advance the timing further due to higher RON rating of E85 - I\'m not sure what the equivalent on a rotary would be

We can run up to 10 percent of ethanol in Petrol with out changes, but yeah 85 percent ethanol would need a remap

You will need a larger fuel system and a re map. approx 1/3 more fuel.
