Title: Making up Braided Hose and Aeroquip connectors
Post by: allstaruk on March 22, 2007, 07:36:28 PM
Hi guys

I have some braided line that I will be using for my fuel setup and I will be putting aeroquip unions on it, the question I have is a) how do you cut it without if freying, b) how the hell do you get the red bit of the union onto the braided line I can get it about half way on but not all the way.

you need to look at the instructions on a website like aeroquip or earls or mocal (thinkautomotive.co.uk) all will have instructions. It is ALWAYS wise to follow the exact manufacturers instructions as not all are the same even for similar looking fittings.

I found the best way to cut the hose is to wrap insulation tape around the area you want to cut and use a small cutting blade in a grinder.

I\'ll second that. Wrap it with tape then Dremel it. Comes out perfect every time.

Wrap the hose in tape, then saw through with a decent hacksaw. If you get the catalogue from Think automotive it also contains full instructions for assembling all the different hoses and connectors.
