Title: Eagle F1\'s Best price?
Post by: Ric on January 08, 2004, 09:06:32 AM
I need to get some new rubber on my FD and Eagle F1\'s seem to be a popular choice. The best price I can find so far is ~£460 for a full set, 2xfront + 2xrear (standard 17" tyre sizes) including VAT and delivery.

Does anyone know of somewhere I could get a better price than this or shall I just go ahead and get them?

Cheers,

Ric

yeah - the price I quoted was using "mytyres.co.uk"

I\'ve tried black circles too but the price wasn\'t as good.

I\'ll give the other places you recommend a ring though. cheers si.

lol cool i was looking at pictures of the original (http://mindscraps.com/s/ups/dvx_rune/smooch.gif) & it is a funny kinda neck on his but anything of a suitable blue will be sweet well probably not what most people will call it (http://mindscraps.com/s/contrib/blackeye/Eyecrazy.gif) PMSL, if there was also the option of an iron on stylee, or whatever the technique is..., appropriate logo & as such could you get a few suitable shirts if you come by them not looking for FOC so dont worry (http://smilies.crowd9.com/contrib/blackeye/kaching.gif) lol, but in all my searching i\'ve found sweet FA so a few to play with, so to speak, would be nice.
Paris sounds pucker but if you fancy telling misses you need to put off wedding that\'d be good, joking of course, as i\'m guna be skint for the next few months c/o car...(http://instagiber.net/smiliesdotcom/cwm/cwm/eek7.gif) but i\'m sure i can scavange enough funds for such a jolly jaunt & will defo confirm this to ya by the 2nd......
Si [i believe the technical term is thrad hijack (http://www.stopstart.freeserve.co.uk/smilie/cowboy.gif) lol]

Cool, i\'m trying to keep the costs down as low as poss as i\'m skint aswell, i will check the ferries to see if it is cheaper than eurotunnel as that is the bulk of the cost.

I wish I could move the wedding cos i\'m missing Japfest and Rotorstock, grrrrrr

Yes please - I need to get this sorted soon so if you could give me a total quote (including delivery) on Eagle F1\'s:

2 x Front:235/45ZR17
2 x Rear:255/40ZR17

I\'d appreciate it. The best price including delivery I can find at the moment is about £460 (inc VAT) so if you can beat that it\'s a done deal.

Cheers.

I\'m pretty tempted by Eagle F1\'s at that price - I\'m a bit confused as to exactly which ones to get tho.

http://www.goodyear.co.uk/services/tyreguide/schematicoverviewCar.html

is, apparently, the list of tyres, and there\'s a choice of 5 different F1\'s. I\'m sure I\'ve heard GSD3\'s mentioned, is that a sensible choice? The problems I have are mostly grip in the wet on jap tyres, I\'ve never had any problems in the dry.

Advice appreciated,

Rick

GS-D3s are the ones most people use.   These repalced teh GS-D2s which are no longer made, but covered a larger wheel size range.

Rick, the issue with Jap rubber is that it is very hard compound. Not much good in the wet, and takes forever to warm up for good dry grip levels.

Depending on what size you need I would recoommend the following.

16\'s
Toyo T1-S
Continental Conti-Sports

17\'s
Toyo T1-S
Bridgestone S-03
Goodyear GS-D3

These are in MY opinion all good tyres. Some will not agree.

Certainly was a bit hairy at points the other night when I was following David McIntyre to and from the Bluewater Wharf pub meet!

Going to have to get something soon but I\'ve just realised that I don\'t have the locking adaptor so it\'s a bit of a bugger to get the wheels off. I\'ll have to find someone who can sort it out for me.

It was you with the huge AP brakes and exhaust flamage at the Wharf pub the other night wasn\'t it? very nice - If so, I\'ll definetly trust your tyre recommendations as anything that can handle brakes that big is worth the money!

Have you had a look in the left hand cubby hole in the boot, theres a little section in there that holds the locking wheel nut adaptor, so you may still find it there.

That was me. :evillaugh :evillaugh :evillaugh

I really need to get someone else to drive it with me following as I want to see how large the flames can get. ;)

The brakes work even better when you have slicks that are nice and warm and going around a track like donington. :D

After several people commenting on the sound my car makes and also the flames I kind of want someone to drive mine too.  Not sure I trust any of my friends with it though, plus a couple of them are scared to just get in it so they wouldnt be up to much :D

I\'d quite happily do a swap except for the fact that I\'d be worried that I might overbrake on a corner whilst you on the other hand might underbrake given those big APs of yours :p

Certainly the most impressive flamage I have ever seen; normally you just get a quick flash - yours is the first car I\'ve ever seen with a full on 5 second plus bunsen burner styleee!
