cant seem to find 1 on the forum, im sure someone must have done this as a DIY thing, any write ups?
budget for six grand in parts.
You will need Turbo
Manifold
Wastegate
Downpipe/dumptube
Oil lines
Intercooler
Fuel system
Stand alone ECU
Pullies to get rid of air pump
6 grand is a lot
I only spent:
tub 500
manifold 200
fuel pump and injectors in rail and fpr 500
ecu 500
wastegate 50
£2k odd fitting which included fabrication of downpipe, supply of oil lines and mapping
around £3.8k
already had FMIC and pullies you could add another 500 for that
Or do you mean a how too as in you have all the bits and you want to do it yourself?
Well my turbo is not a £500 turbo I suppose, depends what spec and if you want a turbo thats brand new, I paid 2.5K for my turbo,Downpipe,Turbosmart 48mm wastegate oil lines and mandrel stainless tubular manifold.
The other money is for Supporting mods.
But as Simon has already pointed out you can do it much cheaper

50 quid for a wastegate!? Where\'d you get that!? Mine cost £440!! :eek
I found a tub (700 miles on a GT35R), manifold, 1300cc secondary injectors for £700.
Apexi BNR33 fuel pump: £100
ECU: £450
Wategate: £440
Oil line: £50
£1740 all in.
The actual convertion is easy. Replace fuel pump. Replace and setup ECU. Remove upper inlet manifold, and remove standard secondary injectors. Replace with the higher spec injectors.
Now the hard bit: Remove standard twin turbos and manifold. This take a fair few hours. Remove all the solenoids for operation of the twin turbo system. Fit new manifold for single tub. Attach turbo to manifold, along with oil supply line and oil drain. Attach water feed and return if it\'s water cooled. Fit downpipe to turbo and connect to rest of exhaust system. Fit wastegate to manifold. Attach hoses to wastegate and to your boost control method (Documented in your wastegate instructions and boost controller instructions - if you have one). Fit air filter to turbo. Connect turbo to your intercooler.
Now don\'t boost it until it\'s remapped for the single turbo.
I have an Apexi GTR fuel pump, modded by HKS so no swirl pot need, is that the same as the BNR33 ? If so nice price cause I paid £300 for mine !
Wastegate from this guy on ebay US http://stores.ebay.com/kami-speedo
is a copy of a 46 mm HKS one, work perfectly although at first I experienced a little bit of boost creep, not any more. I think I needed to get the settings right on the profec B first..
Where did you get that Apexi BNR33 fuel pump for a ton ?
Bulla
Yeah, it\'s the Apexi GTR fuel pump. It was a very good price - very chuffed with that. User named \'Slippers\' off this forum. He was breaking his single turbo.
thanks NIKP just what i neeeded, u were right mcarthy, just the write up on how to do it DIY as opposed to the the parts needed. Seems pretty straight forward then really... what injectors im i looking for with a simple garrett t04, i will get a fuel pump and map with power fc...
Which to4? B, E, S, R?
Will make a difference on what injectors you use etc.
Uprated fuel pump, 850cc primary and secondary with a fuel pressure regulator will do you for the smaller ones. But to be on the safe side go 850cc primary and 1600cc secondary that will also allow you to run more boost
its the to4e. Im not expecting crazy power, just to keep me going till summer as i am getting a t78 conversion properly done at powergains on my 96 rex. This is jus a small set up on my 93 rex to get used to the power!!! in fact i bought it from the here....any thoughts on what else i need apart from power fc and fuel pump??

I honestly don\'t know what was done to pump !!
