Title: Downpipe for single turbo!
Post by: Lum on March 20, 2007, 06:16:02 PM
After being rebuilt my engine is all back in the car complete with shiney new turbo :yes
However i need to get a downpipe to connect the turbo to my de-cat pipe.
How have the rest of you guys running single turbos gone about this?
The ideal way would be to get the car to a exhaust fabricator but i don\'t wanna have to tow it if i can avoid it!
If it makes any differance the turbo is a gt35r with 3" vband outlet mounted on a stainless tubular manifold.
Thanks for any help

Dont think you can trust to copy a down pipe for a single, think you will have to get it to A] a tuner/ builder or B] an exhaust fabricator, unless you can access the pipe, bends ect and have a frendly tig welder who can fabricate it on site?

That was my first thought!
My only other idea was to mock up a template by cutting up the twin turbo downpipe and using some flexible aluminium tubing to get the right shape then taking that to an exhaust fabricator to use as a pattern to make a downpipe from.
Anybody else done anything like this?

Why don\'t you ask Clive at Shy Auto\'s whether he will sell you just the down pipe from his kit?
