Title: Gearbox Goosed!
Post by: khyber pass on March 19, 2007, 01:46:31 PM
Well,

despite finger and toe crossing, the auto specialist has just found "more metal sitting in the pan than in the transmission" - my auto box is peking ducked....!:2Confused

now he\'s using an abacus to work out how much of an eye watering its going to be (financially) to fix...:2eek

Anybody with an autobox for sale ?:

I suppose I should be grateful...it lasted 14 days before something went pop this time!?:Grrr

So frustrating to keep spending all your money replacing broken bits when you want to start upgrading working bits...:Hammer

Funny you should say that Kev...when the fella came to low-load it, he said how cool the rear light looked as I was driving it onto his tow-van!
:Thumbsup!

Ta for the thought mate..I agree that I hope it doesn\'t cost too much...a couple of fellas have auto boxes; then a case of labour costs...

sorry to hear of your predicament

i am planning to go manual and will have an autobox available as a result but i\'m afraid it won\'t be for a while yet. keep looking but i will bear you in mind when my own eye watering comes around

..... anyone got a manual box going cheap (with clutch, pedal box, rear diff, master cyl, slave cyl and loom) ..... aaaarrrrgggghhhh!

Alright Robbie

with hindsight....it was a bit dodgy on the revs in reverse gear...but hadn\'t really noticed owt to speak of...it just decided to whir and go! :Grrr

Really seemed like a clogged filter cos it would reselect if turned off and on...will try the fella you\'ve put on her...cheers bud :Thumbsup!

That is crap!!!!!
Still I guess it explains the stalling issues you were having so a new box would solve that!

All the best with finding a replacement. Mine is currently flooded thanks to the mrs :Hammer but that\'s another story!

All the best and give me a shout if I can help.
