OK, its been covered before, but I thought it was worth mentioning how easy it is to lubricate FD door handles before they break.
Over the space of half a dozen uses of my driver\'s door handle, it got noticeably stiffer, to the extent that I ended up crawling over my shopping in the passenger footwell to get in, as I was concerned about breaking the handle.
Thought it was going to be a pain to fix (lets face it, most FD jobs are :( )
Anyway, took 15 minutes in total to do both doors, including finding a 10mm spanner and some grease and spray lube; it started raining half way through so that might have made it quicker...
1) pull off triangular plastic cover on inside of door - it comes off easiest if you get your fingers under the front edge.
2) remove 2 10mm nuts
3) gently pull door handle mechanism from outside
4) use combination of grease on high load bits (eg main pivots) and spray lube everywhere else
5) curse spray lube getting onto recently waxed bodywork
6) put back together
7) Have a cup of tea.
Hopefully, if you\'ve not done this job before, this will give you the confidence / enthusiasm to give it a go and avoid paying ridiculous mazda prices for a new door handle :)
Another cause of this problem is the rubber stopper falls out from behind the handle itself which results in the handle returning back too far & shafting up the angles of the pivots inside the door mec!!
Lift the handle & look up in the resulting gap, if you see a small hole (about 2mm) then the rubber stopper has fallen out!!!
