Title: belt now has started to squeak
Post by: michaelb on March 17, 2007, 10:00:54 PM
Hi

2 weeks after having air pump removed, Greedy  pulleys installed and a special shorter belt set up the belt now has started to squeak a little while changing gears or starting to move the car

Can any one guide me how to tighten up the belt or is there another solution?

Regards,
Michaelb

All you do is adjust the aulternator mate......

Slacken off the lock nut on the front of the bracket, then give the 12mm bolt that is directly above the lock nut a turn or 2 clockwise to tighten the belt, then tighten the lock nut!!

Thanks mate...

Is that why it is making a noise? Is it lose?

Incidentally, I am trying to find a way to extend the cable form the APEXI Ecu to the commander so I can disconnect the commander from your holder and take it home with me while the first cable is tacked away in the holder...someone was going to do that for me but I think they are going to let me down...
(hence the delay in ordering the holder form you)

Any ideas?

No problems mate, the mould is all set to go when ever your ready!!

That would be the reason for a squeeky belt, not quite tight enough!! dont need to go dull, a turn would probably solve the noise!!
