I read a while back about the plastic ast\'s splitting.
Where could I get a metal one (seen them a while back somewhere) and is it nessecary to change it to a metal one? Also am I right in thinking it\'s the top left of the engine bay area?
PS - where\'s good to buy all 3rd gen rx7 goodies?

Hi bud, any of the vendors n get you one or just keep a eye on the for sale bit, come up quite often :)
Are you going to knockhill this sunday?
Yeeeeeeeeeeah Metal ASTs are good, BUT sometimes they don\'t seal around the cap very well. If someone is selling one find out why.
Some tuners treat the plastic AST\'s as a consumable, a bit like spark plugs and oil filters, you change them as a matter of course at a certain mileage.

Anywhere in the UK ??
Oh and the AST is nowhere near the top left of the engine bay. Its next to the intercooler and the radiator. Stock ones tend to have a completely round cap.
and says do not open... EVER!! lol

Unless its for the bling factor, the stock ast is good, remember these cars are 10-14 years old, so to change one every 10 years is not bad. And at tleast you know they work, where some of the Ali ones are causing sealing problems.
