Title: New member saying hi with piccys of his rx7! :)
Post by: Jim_rx7 on March 14, 2007, 07:57:00 PM
Hi folks, new member here with my first Rx7. I\'ve previously owned a Mr2 Turbo, Pulsar, TT Supra and Evo IV RS.

TBH, nothing\'s got me as excited as the Rx7 to date! The looks, exclusiveness (well, where I live anyway), the drive.. brill.

It\'s got a HKS exhaust of some sort, dump valve, Twin induction kits of some sort (blitz?), and it\'s had the first cat removed (again, I think... lol.) 90K miles with the tips replaced at 75Kmiles. Hopefully the engine will last a while or I\'ll be turning the shed into a rotary rebuild shed! lol

(ps - the plate isn\'t on the car, that was the previous owners private plate. My name\'s not john! ;) )

So here\'s me saying hi! I have quite alot of tech questions, so I ask you to be patient with me as I will most probably ask quite alot! This is my first rotary engine.

Cheers,

Jim :driving

I second that - we are at Knockhill on Sunday and all the scottish Rex\'s are required to attend! (that means you, Neil)

oh and welcome to the club by the way.

Lovely looking car chap (black\'s the next best colour after yellow! I wish!)
Not keen on the Veilside rear spoiler, but looks sweet anyway. Welcome
and all that jazz and enjoy the Rex. I\'ve done the mR2 Turbo thing (twice)
and when I bought the second one I nearly plumped for a Rex. Should
have done. This is the first car I\'ve ever had that I actually take out and
drive for no reason other than I want to drive it (and I\'m still on the run in
map on my new engine - to be remedied tomorrow!)

It is defo a uk car mate. Looks jap simply because of the Jap sized plats on the rear? If so, that\'s just the size of the holder for that particular rear bumper. But it is a UK car.

its also got the later post 96 spec rear lights, UK cars stopped in 95 (although I know the T W Whites - a Mazda dealer - continued to bring them over like Middlehurst did with the R33 skybus under the old SVA rules)

Looks nice buddy!

looks liek a lovely example mate, well done.

You just need to get rid of that battlestar galactica spoiler off the back, veilside don\'t half make some nasty stuff sometimes

UK/Jap..Check chassis number.... if starting FD3S followed by numbers, this will show a Jap car. If 17 digit....UK.

Tbh, that\'s the only bit I\'m not 100% sure of.... but gonna give it a service/coolant change etc, etc before I go doing anything bodywise.
