second from bottom, is it worth it?
Sadens me to see sooo many cheap RX7\'s. Sad such a great little car has no value
I know, I paid £3500 for mine but it needed the LIM gasket replacing hence a lower price. Also at 50k I think you\'d have to budget in for a rebuild!

True but potentially you could still see another 15K on that engine depending on how well its been looked after, dont sound like much but i only do about 3K a year when i had the rx so potentially £3500 for 5yrs motoring :Thumbs-up
Remember i said potentially :Ladys-man
RX-7\'s at this end of the market are a complete lottery, take the mileage with a pinch of salt, many imported low price RX-7\'s are clocked, buy what you see,you may get lucky and drive it around for a while but more often than not it will need ££££\'s spending on the rebuild/turbos etc to get it running 100%.
Good luck....

What James said, cheap FDs are a russian roulette-job. If you want to drive about looking cool then as long as the paint is good u r laughing (unless the motor carks it). If you are buying an FD for driving enjoyment then be under no illusion that a cheap car will probably need a *load* of cash chucked at it to get it up to spec. Its such a shame that 75% of the FDs I get to drive (which is quite a few) drive horribly, the owners really have no idea what a superb drivers car the FD is when properly maintained...
Yes I agree: 98% of the time a reasonable looking FD, going for 3 or 4K probably does not have a long life expecting, engine wise. expect to spend at least 2 to 4K after 4 or 5000 miles after you have got it. Not always the case but a rules of thumb! as they say.
It does appear once again, prices are all over the bloody place with these things. I still say a reasonably good well sorted FD, 92 to 94 version, Standard, should be costing 6 to 9K A very well sorted highly moded version 10 to 13K, And somthing very very special 14 or 15K up to 20+ K for something which has had the kitchen sink chucked at it.
I suppose it\'s down to who is out there at the time, and how bad they want it.
When, not now, but when I look to sell my thing, I won\'t consider anything less, than about 17K or 18K upwards. but she has had £43000 plus, spend on her. Excluding the original purchase price. Which would make it a cheap car for what it is, Never get your hard earned monay back>:3Confused
Yep definitely all true :) I seem to be lucky, had no problems with mine after it\'s initial major service. Only problem has been a boost problem but that should be sorted as have much better turbos and a new engine block. Yes it\'s cost more than the £3500 but I expected that, plus it\'s always more fun learning about the car this way IMO :)
