Title: Solenoid Testing - please help
Post by: framey on March 14, 2007, 12:21:27 PM
Couple of questions please…..
To test the solenoids with a Mityvac, can I remove the solenoid rack? They look very difficult to get to even though I have removed the UIM.

I need to test the double throttle and PRC solenoids â€" any tips?

Also need a new double throttle solenoid (the one at the front) looks like it’s been bodged up in a attempt to repair it. ANYONE HAVE ONE PLEASE?

Thanks

You can run without the double throttle solenoid if you really want to.

I know people have removed this but it seems to be especially important in a automatic car.
To explain further I have severe hesitation/bogging under acceleration which is in part, in due to the double throttle butterfly valve not operating as it\'s supposed to.
Apparently "during rapid acceleration it slightly delays the opening of this valve counteracting the temporary lean mixture that occurs".

Well, ok, in that case either remove the solenoid rack from the engine (If you can, i understand that there\'s a screw that\'s difficult to get to, or they may have rusted on). But the solenoids should just unclip from the rack, so that\'s the other option for you.

Just found this. One of the pipes that goes to the turbo control solenoid valve was split/off.
Any idea what this would cause?

Thanks
