Title: The unofficial exhaust thread
Post by: Illyont on March 14, 2007, 09:16:37 AM
With this thread I\'m going to try and gather information about every single available aftermarket exhaust system for the RX-7 FD. The list isn\'t very large now, but I\'m at work. I will fill in alot of details when I get back home.

I will of course gladly accept input (brands, models, information and prices) from other people.

Also, I would like first and second hand experience with the different models. "this one is very load", "this is a very quiet exhaust", "this one is so hot that it melts my bumper" etc.

Dragons is made by Tiger, the exhaust is made exclusively for him, the other Tiger exhausts are the old model, that others sell.
We are an exclusive Dragon reseller and his exhausts for price comp can be found here

I cannot update the first post because of a 360 minute limit on the ability to edit your own thread. I have contacted the admins about this, so hopefully they can change it.

I\'m updating an offline copy of the first post until the issue is fixed!

Good idea for a list...think this should be done for everything, would be very useful :)

you should try get some videos of the exhaust systems.

i have a few racing beat sound clips

Video clips and sound clips would help alot I guess. But since I can\'t edit the first post I will post the list in HTML on my own webserver, and just link to it from the first post.

So until I get it all together, or atleast manage to make a version 0.1, all information or sound/video would be a great help.

If it\'s a large success I might make a list like this on other parts too. And maybe a "complete" parts database can be made some time in the future.

The problem is finding all the shops who sell the parts. But I will start with the most well known shops, and exhaust systems. And work my way through them.

Thanks alot! This was a great help. And by Gods, this is a sexy looking exhaust:

Seems to be the same exhaust as the black Newera car in the DVD is using (I have been asking about it in another thread).

The exhaust looked really small on pictures of just the exhaust itself, but omg, this looks huge.

PS: It\'s the A\'PEXi N1 dual tip exhaust.

List is updated in first post! I\'ll consider this version 1.0.

As this list probably is far from complete, and the prices might be better in other shops etc, I\'m always looking for input from other people.

I will also add the exhaust sounds that I got from Frankie a bit later. If the forum admins like my idea, feel free to sticky this thread, and change the thread\'s name to Official exhaust thread.

Fish

Not sure if I understand the question. The pictures you see when choosing view image (on certain exhausts) is a picture of the actual system fitted on a car.

I will be adding sounds to those that I have soundclips of, but remember. Some cars probably have recorded sound without the use of a catalytic converter, and some probably recorded with a catalytic converter. So the sound might not be the same if fitted on your own car.

Also, only a few of the clips go wide open on the throttle. Most just tap the throttle a little, so what sounds low might still be a beast on higher rpms.

If anyone have sounds (or videos) of any exhaust systems please reply to the thread, or send me a PM.

I will also try to add some more catback systems. HKS for example have alot of systems available, and only a few selected are listed so far.
