HELP!
has anyone ever changed a stereo in an FD cos the wiring is all messed up , ive tried nearly all the combinations possible ,I dont know what colour wires are what and the list on "iluvmyrx" is for anFC cos it dont match mine, also if i got it badly wrong at some stage what fuze will have blown????
could anyone give me a list?
I got: red,white green and blue, Im gueesing all the others are speekers cos they are in pairs,,,

Is the mulitplug still on? if so go to halfords and but a connection lead. This would be an easier option. As for the wires, i did mine about a year ago but can\'t remember which is which. The way I found out was with a volt meter, then you can be sure.

I have a problem with stereo wiring too - it all works, except the arial don\'t go down when the power is off! I know the arial is the blue cable, and it\'s plugged in ok too! Wierd thing is, if I manually push the arial down a bit, when I turn the radio on, it comes up!! grrrr....
I never wired up the aerial as i removed it and fitted a bee sting style one on the roof......so sorry i can\'t help there.

my ariel did the same thing, it turned out to have been bent slightly, raise it and then coat it in WD40 and manually retract it and it should sort iteself out after a few attempts
Hmm I dislike my aeriel. On my old car, when I selected CD it would go down, and then come up if I put the radio on.
With this one, its just stays up regardless of its on the CD/MP3 or radio. I really want it to go down when the CD\'s on.
Is this easy to do then, or just a part of the stereo?

mine automatically goes down when I select CD. This may sound silly but behind the dash there may be two ariels (one goes to the electric and one goes to a booster ariel in the windscreen (i think). I only connected the one for the leccy ariel (the larger plug of the two) and all was well. It may be worth a check!
Lee, if Traffic Alert is turned on, then my aerial stays up when the cd is playing so the radio can interrupt with useless local radio traffic news ;)
Could this be your situation too?
Hmm yeah could be that. Ill have a look but dont think I have traffic on. Worth a look first though.
