Title: C/F Tailgate
Post by: AtomicRex on March 13, 2007, 10:55:50 AM
Took delivery of the new tailgate the other day....I think it looks rather good!

Weighs absolutely nothing, can easily be lifted with a couple of fingers compared to the original unit...not sure on weight as yet...will get it on the scales this week sometime.

Offsets rather well with the orange too :D

Where and how much?  I assume you have laxan for the glass replacement?

You can buy them through Gary at Rotary Art...so chat to him about cost etc.

The glass is a 4mm lexan equivalent that complies with the Blue book.  We are getting the lexan on Thursday so will get it fitted either then or Friday, but should have pics up of both the tailgate and the doors with windows in by Monday at the latest!! :D

Found the scales last night....its 5.8kgs :o  Going to get the originals weighed....but my guess is that it is going to save a good 15kgs! :D

Had the new glass delivered last night.......unfortunately I took my comm link for my phone to work, and so cant download the pics :(

Will have loads for next week though....including C/F hard pipes for the intercooler and airfilter!!!

Your sig started it, not me :) Doesnt the same apply to Combe?

Hope to see you there this year anyways. Will be popping along to Combe to check the car out when you are up and running too. Looking gooood!

Btw, I think Bren (from Sliders) said he knows you from your biking days?

Very true...it does, Id sooner go out and play, I always found that the laps that felt the slowest were often the fastest!  I dont time on a watch....just video so pick up the times from there.

Combe is slightly different, there are no prizes at stake at the Ring, and a lot to loose, however there is everything to gain at Combe!

Would be good to see you at the track, be it at the Ring or even better Combe itself.

I do know Bren....great guy, he knows me from days since then too, shared many a pint with him in the pub!  He\'s probably the best rider the Ring has to offer!
