I notice this section of the forum is slow moving......is that because there aren\'t many gen 1 owners on here or because you all don\'t have much to say?
Is there anywhere else you like to hang out?
just dont think there is that many gen 1 owners, i heard a fiquire of around 300 gen1\'s registered in the uk (about 1 year ago) at least 1/3 are probably scrap now or of the road, not sure how many gen 1 owners are club memebers bet its no more than 50

We\'ve a silver 1st Gen mark 3 (built \'85/86). 48000 miles, 1st reg not until 1992; ours from the showroom in 1993! Good for another 22 years yet so maybe the 1st generations will end "not with a bang, but with a wimper" in about year 2030?
Joined MRC only this year, but from the old RX7 OC, (member since about 1990), so maybe a few more strags might come in to roost at MRC.
Got the above car by word of mouth that it existed from within the RX 7 OC, I think that shows the benefits of being a member of any specialist club!
I have one ... well I think I do :D It\'s at Carls at the moment but should be back soon. Might have a bit more to say then!
wow and i thought mine was a late registered one!!
i used to be in the RX7 OC when i brought my first one over 10 years ago now!!
there was a post about how many gen1 were here see if i can find it (can alway do another)
do you have any pictures, bet she is mint!!
Mark
thinking about it the club should know how many gen1\'s are registered with them

Ow ow ow ow piccys please
Hi, me again. Having had 3 generation 1\'s, first one a 1983 Mark2, the second and third both being Mark 3\'s, built 1984/1986, I\'ve got a theory that the Mk3 body is the best lasting. Our 1st car was admittedly a "seaside car" before we got it but it didn\'t stand up to the rust bug as well as the later ones. I think galvanealed steel was being used later on. Anybody else noticed a difference in "drop apart rates"? Bottom of doors on The Mark 3 are perfect, but I\'d patched up the Mark 2 a couple of times by now. Also the Mark 2 chassis rail rusted and cracked just near the idler bracket.
Our present car is on a scruffy set of winter wheels at the moment and deserves a good polish up. I\'ll get some photos out in a week or so, if I can find out how to attach them.

I\'ll see what I can do. Do I have to be a member to post?
You have to be a full member to post them or can you host them or use one of the picture hosting free companies and paste a link, or just email them to me and I\'l share them (post them for you)
I’ve got one.
It’s a 1983 13b turbo conversion. But I blow the engine :( The good news is it will be ready for Rotorstock with a half bridge :Thumbsup!

A whole week off work to play with it... Bliss!!!!!
Side windows have been tinted while off the car, but the rear window just has too many curves... I just can\'t get the bubbles out... *sigh*

looks like some good progress are you looking to get to any shows this year?
be good to catch up and see how much fun you had putting the TII in!
Mark
I have a restored 85 Blue series 3 with a 12A low comp turbo lump, LSD, water injection, Microtech, TII ignition & turbo, FD fuel pumps & pipes, custom fabricated exhaust.....blah blah.
Never drive it tho cos I hate the steering.
Working on Tim @ RXmotors to drop in a TII front end with power steering & bigger brakes.
One day maybe......:yes

as i love sound of a J-port and its revs and also the power of the s5/6 turbo :burnout
