Title: Engine dipping
Post by: dazpoynter on March 11, 2007, 05:05:23 PM
Started my 3rd gen rex yesterday and everything was normal. :)

Anyway then i took it out and after about an hour had to pop into a well known supermarket. Then came to start it after only being about 10mins and the revs settled at 1 and half grand and then dropped to 1 then back to 1 and a half, it repeated this even at junctions with clutch up and down in and out of gear. This was until i drove it up to a decent speed and then it just settled its self. So went home stopped it then started it again and it fired up no problem, went for a drive again all was well and its been fine all day today starting from hot or cold.

Does anyone know a cause for this and how i can fix it. the car is pretty standard apart from HKS filters and exhaust.

Isn\'t this a pressure hose issue ........ mind you mine does this occassionally and I don\'t have any leak issues ......... it just sounds like I am revving the car.

Its called \'hunting\'

its the ECU \'hunting\' for the correct idle revs..

Mine does it occasionally too, though I don\'t worry about it...  If it always did it, then I would start looking at it.

So it will just sort it self out after awhile?

Also thinking of getting the exhaust changed and getting it chip/remapped, would this solve the problem and can anyone give advice on this subject as well as original post.

Cheers
