Spoke ot one of you breify, I saw you were packing up so not the best time I know ;)
I was gooning in the Mk2 MR2 race car, badly setup but quite good fun :D Shared between 4 of us so got some serious abuse, but good to see some FD\'s out and about!
Can\'t wait to get my suspension sorted and a bigger rad to get me track worthy!
I think 2 of the culprits were james and john aka stickers and warthog.
Al
That\'s right, it was Stickers (James) who I spoke to breifly... Good to see some FD\'s out on Track :D
Stickers has put some phots up on //www.fduk.org.
You should have just introduced yourself mate. We have only been too happy to chat. See you at another track day or a meet. All the best :wave

Hi Mate,
Nice to meet you yesterday ........ good day eh what ......... were you subjected to Warthog\'s or my Flames :Viking :flamed ....... closest I can get to the experience of watching Warthog pulling away with all that power. :WaveBye
J
:Grrr :Grrr Sorry I had to keep the power off James but as you know that quick fix secondhand gearbox I got didn\'t like being engauged into 4th gear under load :Grrr .
Sadly I missed both of you on track :( But I only got there for the afternoon session, and then were we constantly swapping drivers...
...If you ever need a very very good instructor for Silverstone, Bedford or Rockingham give me a shout, Sam is excellent and what a great way to get shown round Silverstone... Mostly sideways :D
Does anyone know who the 3rd one was?
But it was an excellent day! Now I\'m just desperate to get the REX on track!!!
Two things I need to do after this track day.
I had alot of Warthog tutt tutting the enormous amount of oil that my engine is spraying out from several places now ........ mainly from the upper of the twin turbos and from where the plenum connects to the bit to the right.
Guess this does represent a bit of a fire hazard but it has been like this for a long time now ...... ok it is getting worse .........
I use about half a dipstick every 20 minutes ........ it hardly burns any oil with normal road use.
Guess as this requires alot of dismantling might as well take a deep breathe and go single at the same time ..... even I am bored of hearing myself talking about going single.
The other thing is to get some decent seats .......... I sense that I am not very well positioned to deal with anything unexpected on track when I am using all my energy to stay upright and pulling the steering wheel as well.
Interesting that I was using over twice as much fuel as Warthog ......... another single turbo issue I suspect.
J
T04z.................do it James, do it. NIKE.................:Thumbs-up
Or you could plumb in a fire extinguisher for £100 with 2 nossles in the engine bay ;) Only way you\'d ever get an oil fire out!
Also I\'ve got a CG-Lock in mine, harness\' are much better but one of those is £40, takes 10 minutes to fit and get\'s you locked into the seat quite nicely ;) Could be a good start before dismantiling the inside to fit harness\'! And looking at it, don\'t fit them to the rear start brace, seems like suicide to me!!!
I\'ll keep you all posted as to how my prep goes and what brakes every time I take it out! However I used to have an Exige so used to crawling home and having to uprate everything I broke at the last trackday :D
James has got full harnesses already. I\'m still on stock seat belts and seats.
Need to sort out the problem nobody in the world seems to have solved...what gearbox to use when you have over 500bhp ( Not Dog Box ).:wave

The third was me. I was in the std one who was more interested in t**ting about and getting round rather than the \'racing line\'.
I followed you round the bottom corner late in the afternoon, think you were trying out your drifting as you were totally side ways with opp lock, looked good.:Thumbsup!
It was either me or Sam, but we were "testing" the new tyres for the race series... And hence to say we got the passenger side rear down the convas from a brand new tyre in the morning! Oops!
I think you missed Sam around Luffield! Literally 100% sideways all the way round! Superb!
Still, we can drift without all the modding the diff\'s and the steering racks :D
Your car look standard, what\'s beend one to it if anything and how did it cope?
Yeh it is, Mintex xtreme pads all round a brake brace on the master cylinder and a NUR spec cat back nothing else. I found the NUR spec with the silencer out causes it to run rough on the road but on the track it was superb.
It held up v.well, it didn\'t get that much abuse as it was my 1st one so I was very much on a learning curve but the only probelms I had was some brake fade and the coolant tank smoked after one session as I didn\'t leave it cooling down long enough before shutting it off.
Not bad to say I did 7 sessions during the day at between 25-35 mins a time.:spank
What\'s the master cylinder brace all about then? Sounds like another bit I need ;)
But good to hear you got plenty of track time without any problems!

Don\'t know if they actually do anything as it\'s been on the car since I brought it.:2Rolleyes
