Title: water temp gauge on a gen 1
Post by: mpk490p on March 09, 2007, 10:03:21 PM
does anyone know the range on a gen 1 temp gauge?
it seems to sit just below half way then when im driving 90+mph it sits just over half but that could be 90 c or 190 c!

thanks in advance

sounds about right, the one on mine never used to go much over half even in the height of summer in traffic

probably ... standard gauges are only meant to tell someone when things go really wrong. Mazda ones tend to be bias to the normal zone + most of their cars tend to run quite cool (they are designed for much hotter climates than ours) I guess it\'s to prevent hundreds of cars coming back to them on the 1st hot day of the year and guage reads a little higher than usual.

If you want to know what temperature it\'s really a good quality aftermarket one is probably a good idea.
