Title: caught by the fuz
Post by: Adie Moore on March 09, 2007, 05:27:32 PM
hipertheticaly (sp) speaking if you had been caught speeding by pc plod with a hand held speed gun at the side of the road, and his mate on a bike had chased you down the road to give you the ticket. How long would you waite for any paper work to come through befor you thought you may just have been realy lucky and got away with it?

i thought it was 14 days for them to get the ticket to you if you\'d been flashed, i  got handed a producer with the speed recorded on it. still it was nearly 6 months ago now so i\'m begining to breath a little easyer. 3 more points would have been realy bad and it actualy had slowed me down.....(a bit)

To be honest I think they have up to 6 months to get back to you.
My last indiscretion was called in almost exactly 6 months after I
was caught. Don\'t count your chickens just yet. Fingers crossed
for you though.

As already said any traffic offence has 6 months for the summons to be sent,
The 14 day thing is a NIP ( notice of intended prosecution ) you were given that at the time.

So have to wait a little longer, hope this helps:WaveBye

Did anyone see the \'Tonight\' prog last night with some guy showing how unreliable these hand hed guns can be.

Quite disturbing really when you can get a stationery car to show over 40.

Some guy in the states also got a house to do 8mph.

ROFL

the guns cant be used from inside the car etc have to be calibrated dailey and they have to also be in the correct position, if another car over takes you at the same time a reading is being taken the higher speed will also be shown, its proper naff but what can you do, gordon wants his moneys!

From what this expert was saying it seems qite a skill to target on the number plate, re referred to slip if the person using the gun accidentally moved and the laser went onto the bonnet causing upto an 8mph increase.

ah, dont know what to take from all that. thanks for the input though guys. guess i\'ll just have to waite and see. it was some consalation when the copper told me i was the fastest one that day. i thought about trying to explain to him about taking it round to the red line, to flush the carbon deposits out, but he seemed prety ****ed off with me. so i just looked sheepish:(  and appologised (sp)

thats kinda why i\'m worried, 79 in a 40. i know, stupid, but it is a dule carrage way and their were no other cars (apart from the cop car at the side of the road, with a copper in a hi-vis jacket stood next to it). Not get caught thats a good idea, and if i did i could always give them a false name, like Andy.:Thumbsup!
