Just looking to get some insight into how much oil my twin turbo 1993 UK spec RX7 should consume - in terms of volume in litres.
And where on the dipstick you should try to maintain the level.
And what volume of oil does the total hashed area on the dipstick represent?
And which oil is best to use?
I\'ve been told that Texaco Extra and Shell Helix Plus (blue bottle) are the best for our engines with them being mineral oils.
Cheers guys.
Oh... and what total volume of oil do our engines take in total?
(Sump capacity)
Think you will find it takes about 4.5 litres, as the oil is changed on a very regular basis [change mine every 3k or twice a year ] I use the basic 10-50 castrol [white container] that you can buy in Halfrauds for about £12.00 a 5 litre pack, the hashed area on the dipstick is about a litre and it is better to see the oil in the top third of the hashed area, its not a good idea to overfill. Tiger_kpt can you email me at paul@rotarydb.info need to chat about polishing :) Cheers!
I get through about a liter of oil every 1200ish miles.
If you work on every 1000 miles per litre of oil then you won\'t be fat out.
The amount of oil you use will depend on the way its driven. The harder you drive the more you use.

Any body know what size thread the sump plug is on an FD twin turbo? Looking to get an adapter for an oil temp gauge sender - and there are different sizes available.
