If you are interested I suggest you get over to http://www.mashamoto-auctions.co.uk (http://www.mashamoto-auctions.co.uk) and sign up for a free account. They have a list of cars for auction which is updated daily, and I saw at least two beautiful FC\'s daily.
I recently purchased a car through them (although not from japan) and I can recommend their services and say their customer support is excellent.
I was quite surprised how many Fc\'s there are for auction and how much better condition they are than the ones over here (I blame the weather).
If you guys find any good ones it might be worth posting them up along with the translated information sheet.
This is an e-mail I recieved a while back from Matthew at Mashamoto;
When Importing a passenger vehicle into the uk there are additional costs
other than the price of the vehicle and shipping which need taken into
account in order for you to put the vehicle on uk roads.
These costs are as follows :
upto £100 Clearance fee when the car arrives at uk Port.
10% Import duties on the vehicles declared value.
17.5% VAT on the Declared value of the vehicle + the Cost of Shipping.
£15 for Fog Light Install with tell tail dash light for MOT
£40 For MOT Test
£38 for regisration at DVLA
£100 For Road Tax Disc.
£25 To have registration plates actually made up.
So For example, A vehicle with a Price of £5000 including shipping to uk
(CIF Price) would work out as follows
(for this estimate shipping has been quoted as £500)
£5000 Car + shipping + exportation charges
£875 17.5% VAT
£450 10% Import duty
£15 fog Light install
£40 For Mot Test
£38 Registration fee
£100 Road tax disc (6months or 12 months depending on CC of engine)
£25 Licence Plates
Total Cost
£6543 On The Road.
Please note this is an estimate and not a Guaranteed on the road price.
If the car required any items on top of foglight as to pass mot test these
would also need taken into account.

There are no pics of the engine bay unless i have missed something. Just my preference, but i would like to see a lot more about the spec and even a dyno sheet maybe? Its bad enough buying a car you cant view but without seeing a full spec i wouldnt touch it
its a very very nice car though
you need to add 10,000 yen for shipping - so thats about £444
the white one does have a front bumper but not sure if the skirts and rear are aftermarket
but for under £2k is not bad at all
skirts don\'t look it, rear bumper looks standard but wing looks like RE-A and the mirrors look like Border items.
I know what you\'re saying Ant, I didn\'t think there was enough info on the site, but nothing I could see that wasn\'t correct, just not enough detail
side skirts look stock to me, it looks like it has a rear boot spolier and front bumper,
thats not a full body kit......... this is a full body kit! :Thumbsup!

Bit strange, ive checked the address for MashaMoto and they are meant to be based in the same town as me!?
Had a look on ebay too (where they seem to advertise a few cars), and they have changed their address from the outskirts of newcastle to my very own highstreet. Its only a little office that they are based in, used to be a solicitors (unless it till is?)
Shame there is only me and one other person in the local area with an RX, and I dont think its them? Wonder what happens to all the cars?

Nope, just a happy customer :) I was in contact with them for a while before I bought the FC in my \'Project Mav\' thread (hence the pics of the featured car above) and they sorted out transporting my car and were always quick to respond to the many questions I sent. They are currently sourcing and organising a waranteed 13BT to replace the blown motor, and they just seem like a good bunch of blokes, so I dont mind giving them kudos, and letting you guys know the kind of service they provide.

Are the RE-A wings wider than standard? Or is it just the indicator position thats different?

Not the wings, the rear spoiler looks like the RE-A (re-amemiya) item.
RE-A do a nice wide arch kit too, but that isn\'t it.

I think this was the car I almost bought about 5 - 6 months ago... does it have a plate with TAZ in it?
So did the engine go in it, cause it was fine when I was all about to buy it (I fell ill though, so deal fell through.... maybe somewhat luckily if the engine has gone already?)

The one I saw in my local area was registered with TAZ as the plate. I know its a common plate (irish) but a white FC, in Prudhoe with that plate, gotta be it.
Needs a wash tho, lol

Just wondering anyone has signed up and looked at the FD/FC\'s for auction? I\'d say quite a few of the cars in the auction are better than the one above.

to cover a couple thats already been posted within this thread:
1. Brief descriptions on website ? ,
Basically down to limited space per advert (after all we do have 300,000 vehicles on there per week and as im sure you can imagine this isnt a cheap website to run) usually interested customers contact us and we send them as many pics and as much information as they like we usually have 50-100 photos of each car on there.
Also any specific requests can be done by one of our inspectors in Japan. IE compression checks,parts confirmations etc.

2.Location of offices ?
Our offices are located in prudhoe , Yes we got the old solicitors above the estate agents and accountants, this is just our offices.
Cars are not stored in prudhoe but near the port of tyne in south shields.
and yes the White FC you seen up there was most likely me, we got bollocked for parking our cars outfront , so have had to start parking in the designated parking round the back. (cant say i seen another fc round there though )
3. Ramirez , yes this is the same car mate, it was great then just driving along at 50mph no hard accelerating or anything it just felt like it ran out of petrol (knew it hadnt cause had just put half a tank of optimax in) turned it off , towed home , then no compression in rear rotor.
(DOES ANYONE KNOW IF SHELL OPTIMAX WAS AFFECTED BY THE POLLUTED FUEL IN THE UK???)

What id probably suggest is getting one that runs but with a buggered engine. (if vehicle doesnt drive it costs more to have shipped as needs transport to docks , special lifting at docks etc , (also high chance of damage )
