Title: Dash Fuel Gauge staying at full?
Post by: Kash_ on March 06, 2007, 02:05:21 PM
Hi guys,

The fuel gauge on my dash was working fine a few days ago when I had half a tank and all of a sudden moved to full and is staying there permanantly. Is this a sensor problem or the guage itself? What else could it be?

Thanks :wave

God has blessed your fuel tank?  :god  :Thumbsup!

Could be faulty capacitors?  There was a post a while back about it causing various gauges to go faulty.

I have a similar, but opposite problem, in that mine always reads empty (even when full)

I\'ve been told it is most likely the float in the tank has stuck, but as they\'re so unreliable I\'ve decided to ignore it and use the trip counter to count my kms travelled instead.

Mine is really bad....I fill her up and it says full 120 miles later it says empty !! Think I need someone to lean out my idle and cruise LOL

Well, mine is "stuck" between empty and 1/4 full. It moves as it should between this, but never above 1/4 full.

I have removed the floater from the tank and tested with the ignition on and the gauge then moves up and down as it should, all the way up and down depending on how I move the floater.

After putting it all back down in my tank it goes back to the same in between empty and 1/4 full. I have tested this 3 times, and it\'s the same every single time.
