We have not had any problems with customers saying they are short.
Go for the KV85\'s

there is spec sheets and fitting instruction on here

I have a 92 FD with standard leads at the moment I think. Just about to do a service so wanted to change the leads at the same time as the clutch so thought about getting magnecor KV85 8bit ones but was unsure if this is what I needed.

What about a 92 with an Apexi Power FC ?

Is that still 8 bit ?

I would have thought so as you would have an 8bit apexi? Am I right?

Errr...not sure mate, anyway to tell ?

Got some 8 bit leads Magnecor leads off Clive. Reading this thread gave me a panic.

Guessing it cant be just the ecu thats the 16 bit / 8 bit. Otherwise we would all put in 16 bit versions of the ecu.

early rx7\'s had the 8bit and I believe this was then changes to 16bit around 96? Hopefully someone who actually knows will read this and confirm though as I have ordered 8bit ones too! lol

Ok guys,
regarding poeple saying they are short, that because they have ordered the wrong leads.
8 bit (UK cars) had different lengths very slightly and connection to 16 bit (jap cars)
So you need to order according to your car not ecu change. If you have fitted an Apexi to a 8 bit car you should order a 8 bit.
According to Magnecor.

So are all jap cars 16bit? I thought all early FD\'s were 8bit, so was going to get part number 45287. Is this right?

Regardless of Jap or UK, pre 96 revision FD\'s are 8bit and post are 16 bit.

If you\'ve got an Apexi PFC it wil lbe either 8 or 16 bit depending on the year of production.

Please tell me if I\'m wrong, because I like to be right.

absolutely right.
Magnecor call them UK spec in there price list as all UK cars were 8 bit up to 96 when they stopped them for UK market.
