Title: Can I ask a favour if you got buckets?
Post by: stylus350 on February 28, 2007, 07:57:33 PM
I have been thinking of changing the seats in my FD. I am not sure whether to go recliner or not as there seems to be more choice in fixed back. Normally I would not be worried about iether but I have noticed that I seem to recline the back of the FD seat a lot more than I have done in any other car to get a good driving position. A fixed bucket would be very upright. Is there any one in the midlands / warwickshire area with fixed back buckets who would be kind enough to let me come over and sit in your car to see how I get on?

I\'m nowhere near, but I would advise (if you go for non-reclining) to go for one that has quite shallow shoulder supports.... mine are quite bucket-like all the way up, and it makes me sit all hunched up... (I also have to use a small cushion in the deepest bit of the bucket cos it hurts my back LOL but that s another story)

Thanks. Any feedback on this subject much appreciated.

Hi
Think you\'ll find most one piece buckets seats tilt back using the sub frame as a pivot point, thus you get the reclined postion you require.Bucket seats will sit lower than your orginals giving you more room between you and the steering wheel.I\'m based in Hereford and have a set of Recaro buckets in mine,if you want a look let me know.

Thanks for the offer Pete. If there are no offers closer then I will take you up on that. Also, I remembered to post the dyno day money today and it will be with you tomorrow. :)
