Title: Re-Mapping
Post by: SavageUK on February 28, 2007, 05:21:21 PM
Hello All,

Ive got some big plans for my FD, a single turbo conversion amongst others, and while i realise that for things that big i would need my ECU remapped (Apexi Power FC + Commander) i was wondering just how big a mod has to be in order for it to need a remap?

First on my list is to replace the air intake with this :

http://www.neweraparts.com/Default.aspx?tabid=54&CategoryID=47&List=0&SortField=UnitCost,ProductName&Level=a&ProductID=259

or something similar.

I only ask because its a long journey to anywhere that can remap properly, so if doing smaller mods will mean me not needing to get it remapped thats its a big plus.

Oh and just incase this has any impact, the car is almost completely standard atm, the only mod to note would be the blitz exhuast.

exhaust and air filters and ur getting very near to needing a tweak of the map..save ur mods and have the map done at 1 go much cheaper

exhaust and filter \'de-cat\' then you will be hitting fuel cut! not healthy as soon as you fit the airfilters you notice a big difference in power meaning you neeed more fuel added!! then it goes on and on depending on how many plans you hav sav and do it all 2 geather then release the power get a apexi pfc !

This is where my car is at the moment.... sat in the drive with a full exhaust system decat down pipe & 5Xigen cat back, ARC induction, but I\'m going to get the monster IC sorted & fitted along with a boost controller befor I take my time to drive up to see pip & get it mapped for all the mods!!!!

so rather than doing mods 1 at a time, im better saving up a few, doing them and then getting it mapped ?

next stage is gonna be planning out my future car and carefully planning all the mods, big and small, thatll need doing.

Were going BIG bhp here :)
