Title: AON Top Notch
Post by: BlitzBoy on February 26, 2007, 04:46:18 PM
Just renewed my car insurance with AON after chatting to the MRC contact Adam, just saved my membership fees many times over :D best £25 I have ever spent.

Highway Robbery Insurance wanted £1170 odd to renew.

Spoke to Adam at AON all Mods declared (turbo, engine, bodykit, wheels fuel system) 450bhp , 5000 miles fully comp, £744!! with agreed value of 12K quality! and they sound like they know their cars as well

How do you go about agreeing the value? Do you basically say a figure that it would cost to replace the car you have? does a rebuild figure in the value anywhere? or is it the year of manufacture the guide? :xconfused
Cheers Bob

Called aon today. Would not quote me due to the DR10 on my license 4 years ago. I mentioned insuring it as a classic and they were ok with that as long as you have another daily driver. The daily driver however could not be insured. Now this is the first time i have tried this classic insurance thingy and i was under the impression that you insure both cars with 1 policy but the fd is classed as the classic and the other is your daily?? Don\'t tell me i need 2 seperate policy\'s with 2 insurances???

My wife and I insure our FB with AON as a classic. I\'ve found AON to be very good, but we\'ve never had to claim anything. Its on agreed value at a figure of £6k, at which figure AON didn\'t need substantiation; it was just in their limit of discretion. Premium about £220 ish with a Tracker. I know the agreed is a very high figure but the car didn\'t turn a wheel for nearly 8 years from coming off the ship as a UK car in 1986, so its got a bit of history. Has to be garaged and milage has to be 5000 max. Insured in my wife\'s name, (as we bought it for her in 1993). I am then a named driver.
You\'re right about having to have a main car insured seperately. So we then reverse the drivers for our main car, (main driver and other named driver) and we insure that with Saga!-----I don\'t suppose you FD lads and ladies will qualify for Saga ? Hope that helps.

No he didnt after I told him the spec he agreed that was a lot of parts I had invested in the car, but I have kept all the reciepts from all the work that has been done anyways and taken photos as well in case touch wood anything happens
