Only 10 months after I popped my engine, finally got the rebuild finished off today. Just a couple of bits of snagging to do. Fit the strut brace when it\'s polished. Fit an air filter. Get an MOT. Job done.
Decided to go single while it was in pieces. Spec changes are:
GT35R turbo (A-spec kit. The short runner T3 version DOES fit RHD cars. a LONG story!)
WGT streetport
WGT V-Mount
HKS Twin Spark
AC removed
1600 secondaries.
Walbro fuel pump
Battery relocated to bins
HID headlights
Next on the list is to fit the ZEAL coilovers and SuperPro bushes I\'ve got sat in the dining room! (oh, and change that black elbow for a blue one.)
whats the bill matey :)
more than I want to count up to be honest.
I saved money wherever possible though.
I did the rebuild myself and bought the turbo kit secondhand (needed to get a new chra for the turbo).
It\'s probably cost me 2.5 - 3 grand all in. More if I count the suspension.
Actually, that\'s not that bad when I think about what I\'ve got!
Bloody Bargain :)
Which Zeals do you have?
I bought the Functions that Initial-D was selling on here a while back.
Agh good man. They a seriously awsome units. They looked like the function B-6\'s but i couldn\' t totally tell to be honest
I think they\'re an older version of the B-6\'s as the damping\'s not adjustable. I\'m not worried about that though as everything else is adjustable and, reading up on them, the damping\'s supposed to be spot on. They\'re seriously nice bits of kit though, best made shocks I\'ve ever seen.
When you removed your AC did you remove the AC pipes that run through the bulk head into the heater matrix?
If so how did you get to the heater matrix, as it\'s been a complete **** so far?
yep, it was fairly straightforward.
Remove the glovebox.
Behind the glovebox is a black unit with a metal clip and screw holding it together. There\'s a nut at the bottom of it (behind the carpet) and one at the top (Pretty far in so you\'ll need a socket on a long extension bar.) Remove those 2 and pull the unit towards you. It should come away from the rest of the heater.
Once it\'s out you\'ll be able to see that it splits in two (remove the metal clip and screw mentioned above plus a few others around its middle). Inside is the air con bit you need to remove. Once it\'s out, put the two halves back together, seal the various holes up and replace the now empty housing behind the dash.
I think it took me less than an hour, don\'t remember any major problems.
Thank you very much for that, I\'ll give it go at some point this week. :D That way sounds much easier than the dash removal I was going for. haha
That will be some serious tool you have there.
Fish
nice work:Thumbsup! . any more pics?
There\'s not a lot else to show at the moment. The exterior is completely standard - just the way I like it. I\'ll get some detail shots of the engine this weekend.
what power are you running?
I think 350 should be easy to get without pushing it too much. I\'m aiming for 400 with WI once it\'s run in and I\'m happy with it.
