Title: Filters
Post by: Gman on December 31, 2003, 10:47:35 AM
I have an HKS Power Flow Induction kit, i just received my filters i ordered for it and found they were too big.  I actually got two whole new oval filter with the honeycombe mesh etc but there was no way in hell it would fit so i removed the foam filter and managed to fit it into the old cage with not to much hassle.  Is this going to be ok?  Its not crushed in there or anything, anyone who has seen the state of my old filters will know that anything is better than what was in there.

This brings about the question ...

Can any other filters (i.e. teh apexi or K&N) be used on the HKS hard pipe kit ? - I assume it\'s just the neck width that needs to be the same ?

On top of that, where\'s best to get the new filter type from ? and what model ?

At the end of the day I would say you can probably bolt on any filter, its just neck size, Most filters do universal fitment cones which are usually cheaper anyway.

I had a varity of filters on my Old R5, like you say its just neck sie.  Is there any other pipes connected to the cones? or is it just the intake pipe?
