Got a ticking noise off throttle such as letting off through town or changing gears only happens for a few seconds.. anyone know what this is? Done it since I got the car I assumed it was something to do with the exhaust on an rx7 but just wanna make sure!

Depends on how loud etc it is, I\'ve only heard two kinds of ticking from the rotoaries I\'ve had.
1) Blowing exhaust manifold
2) An old egi I had with 150+k on the engine used to make a ticking noise when you came off of the throttle.....
Other than that, I cant say - most liekly the manifold has a hole.
Could it be the injectors?
why would the injectors make a noise? Its reasonably loud, as in you hear it if your windows open.
hmm, its quite loud as in you can hear it with your window open. Dunno, what sort of noise could injectors make and why?
Maybe not the injectors then, just remembering back to my previous car which didn\'t have a noisy exhaust, the injectors would make a ticking noise as they fired. Normally heard at low speeds, not very loud though so probably not the culprit.
What kind of ticking noise is it?
Is it fast at first then slows down as revs drop?
It could be your speedo/rev counter on its way out...

hmmm nah comes from outside like it could be exhaust related. I will try get a sound clip if I can hang my phone out the window or something.. wonder if that will count for 3 points? "but officer i wasnt on the phone I was making a video"
