Title: Front mount intercooler hard pipe problem, HELP!!
Post by: Baz116 on February 20, 2007, 05:06:58 PM
Hi,
In the process of fitting a Front mount intercooler, well i`m not a friend is doing it for me:p , having problems connecting the hard pipes.
The kit is the same/ similar to the greddy fmic, it is an "autobahn88"  http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Front-Mount-Intercooler-Mazda-RX7-FD3S_W0QQitemZ250085975129QQihZ015QQcategoryZ52640QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Can anyone post up photos of their engine if they have a greddy fmic or the autobahn 88, so that we can see how the hardpipes are connected.

any help is much appreciated.

thankyou.

Baz

Yes, a lot of FMIC kits require you to relocate the rad

Er I mines in bits in the garage to be honest but I managed to work it out from the pics and a bit of common sense, yes you need yo use the standard black plastic elbow.

Also what pipe are you talking about? Pop up a pic or give a more accurate description of where to goes and what it lookslike

Just to check that you scrolled down the Instructions to the pictures as the car in the photos has the greddy elbow too. :Thumbs-up
Does that kit come with all the pipes you need then?
Seems good value.

Crazy Eddie the car in the photo with the greddy arm has a different hard pipe going to the elbow.

Allstaruk the pipes look the same and they are in the order i thought but they don`t seem to want to line up. serves me right for thinking ive got a bargin, then again it might now i know! i`ll have a look tomoz and get some pics. Its the 2 large hardpipes on the drivers side that dont seem to line up right. i`ll have another go and let you know.

cheers

I have a genuine greddy kit and the pipes look pretty similar they are a pain to get lines up and quite easy to get the wrong way round.
