Title: is my stock injectors sufficient enough ?
Post by: michaelb on February 18, 2007, 02:28:45 PM
Hi

I have 96 Bathurst with the Apexi pfc fitted and a base map (boost lifted to 0.92).

I am going to have dragon performance silenced mid pipe fitted (hopefully Wednesday) and also in the very near future Blitz Induction Kit from Shy Autos (Clive’s)

Will I need my injectors and the fuel pump changed as well or is the stock set up sufficient enough to handle the mods….

Has any one had similar mods with stock injectors working fine?  What is your maximum injector duty with the mods above?

Regards,
Michaelb

The only thing I would be looking at is making sure you dont get boost creep might be worth looking at getting a boost controller, if you stick to the same boost level you wont have any problems [if the map is safe that is]

Thanks for that,

Can you explain what you mean by a boost creep up and it\'s manifastation?

I was running with a silenced mid-pipe and cold air induction with a sensibly mapped PowerFC and did not have any problems.

Thanks for the reassurance.  Do I have to get a map at say power gains or reworks or can my base map put on by ant from here ( he set it up a little richer to be safe ) handle the mods?

That\'s something that I can\'t answer as I\'m not familiar enough with mapping.

Whenever I change something in the system I like to get it re-mapped to see the effect of the change and to ensure reliable running.

Michael,
You dont have a base map, you have a modified map.

Ant

How are you doing !!!!

OK, so it is not a base map.  So I guess I can say the car was mapped ready for my mods, right?

I am still enjoying the map you put on my Apexi…as you can see do not know too much about mapping.  What was actually increased?  Fuelling?

I am going on Wednesday to Power gains to have a engine service done and possibly fit my dragon performance silenced mid pipe ( we spoke about it on the phone)

Trying to get as much info as possible re my mods ..
