Title: Give me a Y
Post by: ro284 on February 17, 2007, 05:35:02 PM
Effini Y pipe that is, one of the best things iv\'e fitted with my standard twins! if you ever come across one of these for sale and wonder if to buy, i can only say it\'s brill, with a set of Hard Pipes the boost shoots up on the boost gauge to around 1bar and feels quite different to standard Y & pipes etc, just more efficient i quess, fitted the Apexi but not being tuned yet my boost is a bit lower 0.85 but i know the plumbings right, as i swapped back to standard ecu to check.
now whats next?

its not theoretically the same. The efini y pipe does flow slightly better than the standard pipe.

It is not the same, it has other advantages other than just the flanged join.
Flow, D/V location, etc.

However, they are an absolute B*STARD to fit. Unless the engine is out of the car, or you have no turbos.

Gonzo, i found i had no problem doing it, just took off all the air filter pipes, lifted the old Y up and forward,(fiddly!) then took the studs out of front turbo, pushed the Efini one in with it\'s O ring then put the studs back in, hour and a half including the hard pipes, well pleased with the result, my car has never had so much boost, guess i had a leak somwhere in the old rubbers,

Thats right Bob, remove the studs and they will slide on.
