Title: Road Rage
Post by: onelastpost on February 14, 2007, 07:11:41 PM
Hi Everyone.

Its been a while since I posted on here, due to my car being in storage at the minute I suppose. Today I was a victim of the most serious road range incident I have ever been involved and feel compelled to tell as many people as possible.

I spend most of my life in my car and see the muppets and morons that we all know exist, however I was travelling on the M6 Northbound this morning and was in the middle lane travelling at about 70mph.

This Black Mercedes CLS 55 AMG came from nowhere and sat right up my ass. It was obvious he was frustrated at being stuck behind me, and that he had been under passing. The fast lane was blocked so he stayed inches from my tailgate. Once I had passed the lorry that was in the slow lane, I pulled over. This guy in the merc sped passed me and pulled into the slow lane in front off me and braked as hard as he could. I had to move back into the middle lane or the lorry would have been into the back of me.

What does the guy in the merc do? He pulls into the middle lane and slams on again, i braked hard, but had to swerve to miss him and in the process I smack side on straight into a Ford Galaxy at about 60mph.

The guy in the merc actually turned around in his seat and laughed before speeding off! The Galaxy and I pull over and swapped details. Luckily for me the guy in the galaxy seen everything and was very sympathetic. We called the police, but it all happened so fast that I only got part of his reg and the police are struggling to trace him.

That guy had no concern for me at all as a fellow human, he could have killed me and others.

This all happened just before the slip road for the M65, on The M6 near Preston. If anyone sees a Black Mercedes CLS 55 AMG in this part of the country, please let me know, also someone somewhere most know someone that can help me trace him. I would appreciate any help at all.

Thanks for reading, and stay safe on the roads.

Andrew.

hummm cant seem to find one :(

if you are 100% sure of the part of the reg - i reckon we could find it in about 2 hrs :D

http://www.rac.co.uk/web/vehiclechecks/dvla_lookup/
http://www.answers.com/topic/british-car-number-plate-identifiers

i have done M(A-Z) and nothing and P(A-Z) and nothing either ( found a few black cars - but they were diesel )

i was using P for preston and M for manchester so see if it was local

you are looking at about 400 combinations - if you are 100% on the rest of the reg

You cannot get an address, just leave it to the police to handle. If you do manage to get an address, just let us know and we will all go down together with you, it could be unsafe otherwise...

its amazing what people can find when we all put our heads together

and you can write to the DVLA to get an address - but you need a really good reason ( hit and run etc.. )

just forward the full reg to the police

if you get no where then im sure you can be creative to get him back

"hello , is that the police station .. oh good .. yeah i have just had my AMG pinched .. can you find it please"

"is that the local clamping place .. some prat in a AMG has parked on my land , can you clamp him"

"is that the police , some guy in a black AMG just over took me on the motorway like i was stood still , can you have a quiet word with him please"

im sure there are lots more :D

How can the cops find it hard to track the guy from what you gave him when ppl can find it on the internet in less than 2 hours?? how many CLS 55 AMG\'s are there likely to be on the roads in the UK with 55 VRZ as the last 5 digits of his plate???

Fking retard couldve easily killed lots of ppl and shouldnt be driving - and then some.

Like has been said they couldn\'t have tried very hard to find as has been showed!!

Well done guys and please keep us informed as interested in this all the best with it.

Oh and good job with the not smashing into the back of him as that would have come off your insurance and would have sucked big time.

Hey I\'ve got a better idea, if you want the police to really beat the **** out of him and trace him immediatly,  you can say this:

"I met the guy, after finding him parked outside a restaurant. I spoke with him and he realised that he was going to get in a lot of trouble for what he did.. he offered me money but I declined, he then offered me passports and other such legal documentation... he said they would all be registered and such.. I still declined... but I told him I would get back to him...."

LOL the police will hunt for him immediatly... not even a second spared...

Got to the police with it.  If they do nothing (remember two witnesses so not your word against his) then go to the papers.  Make sure your insurance company know the situation and pass on the details on to your insurers - no way you should see any less £s in your pocket because of this tw@.

Very glad you\'re okay and it\'s a sobering tale for us all :(

can the police find out an address?  if so i might know someone that can help.

would be a much better idea than getting the police involved.  a knife in all tyres , every pannel deeply knifed and oh yer a good old friend called paint stripper.  not to mention the brick through the window as we drive off just to let him know what has happened.  then wait 2 months and do it to his next car, or repaired car.

did i say this.....................must have been the drink talking.  just PM me and i will be there, even if i have to drive to scotland.

honestly though i will make some enquires about the address

Luckily the other driver involved witnessed what happend so there will be a good case against the Merc driver.  Dangerous and Reckless driving, failing to stop at the scene of an accident (that he caused).  It\'s idiots like this that need to be off the road.

There\'s always the possibility it could have been stolen?

Seems odd for someone to risk a £110,000 car for no reason.

Also highlights the ineptitude of the police that a few people on a forum can track a car in under 2 hours when the police can\'t.

Hi there

The police called me today, and without an independant witness coming forward the only thing they have on him is leaving the scene of an accident. Even though the guy I hit and myself are prepared to make a statement the copper reckons that wouldnt be enough for CPS to prosecute. Typical.

The cameras on that stretch of road are owned and run by the highways agency and no longer record 24/7. They are only used to monitor the road AFTER an accident. Also bloody typical.

I do have his address now though...

...a dish served cold coming right up.

Personally i would not let this lie, i have some friends in the force and i will seek thier advsie, unfortuantely it could just be the individual copper not wanting to be hassled with the paperwork, certainly sounds like it from the lack of "not being able to trace the particlaur car to the number plate you got". Before even joking about carrying out any vigilante justice be very very sure you\'re targetting the right guy.  Might not have been the owner who was driving.

Obviously any comments made about dealing with it in a personal manner were jokes weren\'t they guys.  Remember, we have serving occifers on this site who would have to report anything if they thought you were serious ;)

I enjoy this sort of behaviour as the other driver and myself can become more aquantid(sP),most people are not the \'macho\'s\' once you ram them up the arse, then drag them out the car before it comes to a standstill.....I learnt the technique at Police College. Then you ask him if he is hurt,if not, you bitch slap him.It\'s called an \'accident injury\'.If you are small framed like me,you use an object in your hand to make your point.
Do not,I repeat,Do not take the law in your own hands as you will end up in jail, not him.Write this experience off to a life lesson, albeit not an enjoyable one. There will be many more still to come !!!!!!!!
Lastly........lay off on the Boys in Blue.......its my family !!!!:cool :Typing

Kind sir,his reaction is typical of someone who has realised he is in trouble and trying to get \'brownie\' points with the law.His actions have led to your evasive actions and\\have resulted in a collision with another vehicle.Your alledged behavior in your vehicle before the collision is another matter alltogether. Is he saying that he caused the accident by braking in your course of driving because you were on the cellular phone ?............:Typing
