Right my outside door handle stoped working few months ago after taking it apart found the handle it self had broke, so after months of looking i finally found another one. swaped it all over today and feeling pretty good knowing i will be able to get back in the drivers door instead of looking like a prat and walking round to the pas side and climbing across to open it. i found it still dont work :Grrr :Grrr. anyone had this prob before or any1 know wot it could be, so when i take the door card off tomo i might know wot im looking for?
I had this problem, turned out that the rod that runs from the handle into the latch mechanism wasn\'t catching on the bit that releases the catch. Its a total pain to get to. If you follow the rod down at the bottom there is a slot at the bottom that pushes down on the release. Not sure if i\'d bent the rod or whether there was another part that fitted into the slot to push the release. I got a hard piece of rubber and used a stanley knife to shape it so that it fitted tightly into the slot. A lot of patience is needed as you can\'t see where it goes, it has to be done by feel alone unless you have a very small head.
