crazy eddie is correct now for question number two what is an oil catch tank and what does it do ?
OCT--It is fitted into the oil return on your oil filler neck. It collects all the blowback oil which is gunk. It is very useful if you are doing track days as it stops any oil blowback from going on the track under heavy braking/cornering.

so where would the gunky oil normally go? would it be just mixed in with all the oil going around the engine?

The blow by oil is pushed through the new piping into the O.C.T. and then you just empty it when full. Easy. If you are doing a full track day you will look to empty it a few times in the day. Normal road use it can be many weeks. HTH.:wave
