:)
Be carfull you don\'t damage the level flote when you remove the assembly.
Here you go here\'s one we converted to into the tank that you can copy.
Clive, is there two types of 044 Pump an Intank and Out? I have one that i was told could not be used in tank? Is that wrong?
Cool - does anyone know if this setup suffer\'s with pickup with 1/4 full of fuel syndrome?
Cheers for that:D

planning on fitting mine 2mrw so this thread is just in time i was told to fit a sock to the pump??
I would def fit a sock, and obviously make sure the hose you are using along with any fittings/means of securing any of it is certainly ok for prolonged submerging in petrol.

As far as I know there is only one type of 044 and we have put these in tanks for years.

clive do you do the filter socks for these pumps as it now turns out dragon havent got any there all fitted to pump kits!!!!!!!:spank also what size fuel line did you use to join the pump to the unit?
044\'s will suffer fuel starvation around the 1/4 tank mark. I know, I\'ve got one :-)

I have been onto our supplier and found that there is not a sock that fits directly onto the 044, however I have ordered some and will make the adaptors to suit,
Another thing we will be playing with is fitting an alloy filter canister onto the bottom of the pump as I think this will possibly take away the 1/4 tank thing and the horrible filter behind the subframe.
BTW we do a special swirl pot that fits onto the FD rear subframe and keeps the fuel system out of the inside of the car.

And thanks too :)
Not having the knowledge but how does this suffer with the problem. Im guessing that the pickup point through the sock will be in the same place if your making an 044 fit in tank - is it that it is just pushing such a quantity around the system?

cheers tim now just to get a sock!!!! proving hard work as you know!
fitted the pump yesterday with the help of lum90 pic shows how we didi it neat job

did you fit a sock in the end?
Quote from: BlitzBoydid you fit a sock in the end?
nope still havent been able to source one anybody else found some??
i am running an 044 in tank, and like people have said, it def suffers from fuel surge, mainly when below 1/4 tank. i have found it happen quite regularly. so when i have the cash i intend on fitting a swirl pot.
I\'m not suprised it suffers from surge if it is mounted like that so far from the bottom of the tank. Any crap in the tank will quickly kill the pump as well, they should really be run with a pre filter (ie. like a sock) we have learnt the pre-filter lesson the hard and expensive way after loosing a pump on the rally car :( (rally entry fee was more annoying than the cost of the pump TBH)
On the picture posted by Clive I see that the original wiring (the blue connector to the pump) is used to supply power to the pump. Would this wiring be able to supply close to 30A?
