Title: Sensor attached to the cat?
Post by: probedb on February 10, 2007, 03:11:07 PM
What\'s the sensor that\'s attached to the standard cat?

I hope it\'s not important as mine got destroyed when I removed the cat. Could unscrew the two bolts fastening it on so had to try \'other means\'.

So is it important?

Cheers :)

thats the heat warning light if using apexi ecu dont bother if standard ecu ensure its tapes out of the way and doesnt short out on the body

This is just the heat probe so you can see if there is a problem with the cat (malfunction / over heating) so nothing to worry about!!! although if your on a stock ECU you might find it will go to a limp mode (I know it does on the sunny GTi-R\'s).

If your on an apexi just get it up out of the way & forget about it!!!
I\'ve put mine behind the heat shield on the floor pan!!!

Cheers people. Do I need to stick a resistor in there? I broke the plastic bit that attaches to the metal.

Shouldn\'t of thought so mate as it is only a temp probe...... if you can find the plug I think you will find you can remove it all together..... I did on my MX5 & it ran fine!!

The plug is under the drivers seat, if you remove it the heat light will stay on, this isn\'t good as the power FC uses the heat light to tell you whats going on.

Just leave it plugged and tie it up somwhere I pushed mine into the car and left it under the seat.
