Am thinking about selling my FD to get some cash together for one with a single turbo conversion (was gonig to do the conversion to mine, but it may be more cost effective to start with a single tubby as a base)
Mine is a 1992 touring x auto box, but will have a manual conversion when sold (im keeping the box!)
85k miles on the clock, unsure how many of them are kilometers though! at least half
Imported in 2000, as far as I am aware a strong engine, rebuild engine by rx motors about 15k ago, reconditioned turbos about 5000k ago by rx heaven (sent of to some turbo place in portsmouth)
Serviced every 2000->3000 miles, been to reworx since i had owned it for all its servicing and maintenance, stored indoors :)
Apexi PFC Fitted and mapped at 239.5rwhp (dyno sheet to prove)
Straight through exhaust
Turbo timer
Basic turbo gauge
Air pump removal
Greddy Pulleys
Silicon vacuum conversion
Also got Greddy FMIC and some hard pipes. Could put in the deal although not fitted.
MOT To Feb next year - couple of adivsory, rear wheel bearings and discs. Fitting slotted and drilled discs all around and can fix bearings, also going for a major service soon.
The let down is the quality of the interior and the body work, dings here and there and a bent in right wing, needs a new popup cover (some bugger reversed into it and ran off!)
I will probably be sorting the body work as best i can if it comes to that
Interior is red leather, there is a tear in the drivers seat and the interior does look and feel like it is 13 years old :) if you get what I mean

Looking for price ideas to start with :)
Apologies - had to edit engine rebuild was dome by rx motors not rewrox!
Cheers, James
so when the car is sold - it will be a manual ?
how come you are keeping the auto box ?
no idea what its worth to be honest - the prices are all over the place recently - last FD i looked at was £2K , running , delivered to my door :D
im sooooooooo tempted to get a FD - just dont want to pay a lot for one ( yup im cheap !! )
if you sell it with 12months MOT thats a bonus at the end of the day
it all depends on how quick you want to sell it and how much money you want
dont facnt a 1991 Cab do you in PX ?
Stu
Im keeping the box because its uprated to handle extra power and I can not drive manuals because I only have got 1 foot :)
lol
And yes it will be manual
J
thats a bloody good answer :D
you have seen the prices for some of the single turbos that have gone on here - so work out what your car is worth from that
so single turbo is 6K , you would spend 4K on yours to make it a single - you car is now worth 2K
thats the very very simple way of working it out ( but not very accurate )
prob with this idea - the 4K green single - that puts the price of yours down to not a great deal - thats where the probs start !!
have a search on ebay - last one on there went for about 6.8K , you can get them off here between 4-6K
hope this isnt tooo confusing !!
Stu
( my 1991 Cab is a auto :D )
2k - man thats a bad ass price :)
I would say the rebuilt engine and remanufactured turbos must count for a little more?
I would like 4k for it to be honest but the green one just shot that idea out of the water, did it have a rebuilt engine though?
The ones on pistonheads.co.uk are over 4k
Am I being optimistic?
not sure to be honest !!
i have turned down a 2K fd , a 3K UK one
i have seen people buy them for £1700
a friend of a friend picked one up for £2K with a fresh rebuild
then there are the ones that go for £5K
or people who want £5k and it sits on the drive for months
what you have to appreciate is that everyone wants a good deal - and there are always people wanting FD\'s so they know what they are selling for - its finding a balance between what you want for it and how much someone will pay !!
so if you want £4k then thats a start - it gives people an idea
there was one a few weeks back on here that went for £2900 .. now that was pretty cheap ( http://www.mazdarotaryclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=32927&highlight=2900 )
have a search on the site :D
Stu
4k does look optimistic compared to that
That was the bargain of the century though :)
J
Sod it ill put it up for 4k and see what happens :) I must by a single turbo :)
lol
J
its not a bad price at 4K to be honest
personally i would
1 - get the MOT sorted
2 - get the box sorted
3 - then sell it :D
do a nice write up - pics , history , whats been done etc...
give all the info you can - it stops the silly questions later :D
Stu
Grinder you tell me where you get an FD with a fresh rebuild for 2k and I will take 2!
my mate was in the right place at the right time thats all
thats what he paid - thats what he got :D
you just need to be lucky at time and pray that people dont know what they are selling :D
Sell it to meeeee! :)
