Im tempted in breaking my RX7 and going for something like this

I had been collecting bits for a single turbo conversion and even a respray to black and fitting of body kit, it seems like it may be more cost effective to break my current rx7 and swap the gearboxes (mine has an uprated auto)
Its a bit of a shame really to break a car but sometimes you do have to go with the cost effective method, and this may be it in the long run.
I am unsure wether to break or sell, the bodywork is not in great condition but that was to be sorted with the respray, the engine though as far as I am aware is pretty strong, no compression results yet but had a rebuild about 15000 miles ago by rx motors and the turbos have been reconditioned about 5000 miles ago! Im unsure it would sell because of the body work, however it may sell to be broken ??
Also, the T61 turbo (on the car above) is that a decent turbo or would it be running at its limit of 300rwhp. I suppose though changing the turbo would not be difficult thing later on since the supporting mods exist!
Good idea? bad idea - do you think im being really evil by taking a car to bits ;) Whats the market like for spares?
I guess i\'m impatient - I must have single turbo and I must have it now! :) lol this seems like the quickets route to success!
If its a runner then dont break it - thats not your best idea
why dont you put a price on your other thread - you MUST have an idea in mind of what you think its worth ??
The other thing is... if you break the car you will have the money coming in in dribs & drabs, & it will be spent on other things rather than a single turbo REX, where as if you sell the car complete you will have £5000 or what ever in your hand in one go, which shouldn\'t disapear without you noticing!! then you have a lump sum to go and buy another rex!!!!!
Jono
breaking it is a shame to be honest
like Jono said - its money in dribs and drabs , and you have to remove the parts and post them , and you have a car in peices on the drive - then you have to pay to get shut of whats left
if you have the space , time , skills etc.. then its not tooo bad
failing that - sell it in one peice , it saves time and hassle
work out the numbers
breaking car - you might get 2-3K
sell car for 2-3K
i know what i would do
your time has a value - if it takes you 100 hrs to break a car ( taking parts off , packaging , taking to post office etc.. ) at £10 per hr - thats a £1k in your time wasted
then you have to physically sell the parts , do you have prices in mind for what it worth what ?? you need to make them cheap enough to sell - but too cheap and you wont achieve your target figure
have a look at a thread by GMAN or Grinder - we have both broke cars in the past - and its a long winded process
someone wants a window motor - so 1hr to remove and you sell for £20 , then someone offeres you £100 for the door - you cant sell it as it has no motor - you see the probs !!
its your choice at the end of the day !!
