Title: After Rebuild
Post by: Clarky on February 07, 2007, 12:05:00 AM
When i have finished my rebuild, iv\'e used all brand new street ported plates and housings, i want to decat as well, fit xs intercooloer, hks racing suction air filters.
my question is will it be ok to run the engine (keeping of boost) in with these mods without a remap untill the engine is run in.

I would have said yes as you wont be on boost so no spikes etc. Check with an engine builder but as far as Im aware its running lean or boost spikes that will cause you trouble, none of which you should have off boost. If you have apexi you rich her slightly.

As Gary says, yes but.

However if you want to be real safe and not worry about driving the car whilst running in, put the stock ECU back on the car as this will not let you hurt it.

Then get your remap after your run itn and away you go :D

Hi John,
Yes but be really light with the right foot!
If you keep revs below 3000 until you can get it mapped or can see your tuner that should be good.
If you drive to your tuner,he can put a rev and boost limit into the Apexi if that is the way you are going, travelling to the tuner will be part of the running in too!
Regards
Carl
