Post by: markrx7 on February 06, 2007, 09:13:17 AM
Hey guys...

Need some help, getting my car back on the road shortly (due to a blown up diff) and well im not happy with my spoiler... i thought i would like it but its ive grown off it now, hoping you guys could give me some inspiration.

Heres what ive got atm....

well this exact one as i bought it off ada7 on here, a veilside one.

but what i want is this style....

but theres loads..... i dont want anything thats mahoosive nor do i want it to be to wide and stretching out past the sides of the car.

anyone got pictures of different ones or suggestions etc? and i definetly do not want one of those halfreuds specials!

i have a Re-Amemiya one, its very similar to the stock pre 95 one except its wider and curves up instead of down.

Rex, I like the one in your Avatar, a full width GT wing.

For me personaly a wing either has to be subtle, or GT.
:)

That is the one I put the link up for....you need to make end plates and mounts for them....but to be honest compared to the price of some wings its great

Is it similar to this one?

I prefer the Feed and RE-A ones as those in the link are totally full on. One of the C-West ones is nice too but the feet are near the centre which I\'m not keen on.

Tony,

What are your fixings like on the rear?

Mine were attached straight to the rear tailgate, and there was so much flex in the ali that it was noticeable in the wing.....wobbled like a bugger out on track.....think it probably produced more drag than downforce!

Aye, it mounts straight onto the tailgate - but - I can\'t run a large wing like that in the championship anyway so it\'ll have to stay off.

Have you got other shots of the wing, Tony? IE length and curvature. Will you be willing to sell it?

Cheers,
John

Stay small!

If you want to get better downforce do something with the top of the rear window, too tall and you just creating drag, and if you get it right you need to complement it with a front splitter so that you dont get huge amounts of understear.  Big wings have their place but your fuel economy and top speed will suffer because of it.

Not the best I\'m afraid, but as car is not here at mo its all I\'ve got of it..
Sits quite nicely where it is and is just the right size and height in my opinion.
Its also been dipped by alloy wheel refurb company, so is not immaculate in Gunmetal Grey.
Also, rear blade is adjustable to whatever angle you choose.
Let me know what you reckon.

looks ok to be honest mate, just realised what car this is now dude, love the rest of the kit, fair play :D

but.... i do have one gripe with it... i dont like how the feet sit close together, which is a big thing for me, with a long shot, can you move them further apart?
Title: Spoiler choice...
Post by: Alex T on February 13, 2007, 07:53:19 AM
Without the car here at the mo, I cant really tell. But I dont know if its spot welded together or not, or if brackets are screwed to spoiler blades.
hmm good question!
