Title: Idle Speed
Post by: nikp on December 23, 2003, 08:04:32 PM
Hello all!

Calling all experts (Yet again! :p )

My idle speed seems a tad on the slow side, and if I\'m sitting in traffic the speed gets slower and slower, eventually getting to the point of almost stalling. Is it possible to adjust the idle speed manually, or is it controlled by the ECU. (I have noticed a small screw at where the throttle cable connects to the throttle housing - is this how to adjust the idle speed?)

Cheers chaps!

Hi Nik,

Turn that screw clockwise and it will raise the idle speed.
But in doing so your kind masking the problem in the short term which while being masked may have more expensive long term effects if not diagnosed and resolved. It may well be something really simple.
