Title: boost problem
Post by: rx7eaven on February 05, 2007, 03:30:46 PM
Hi everyone.

I have an interesting problem. Under WOT and at full boost the pressure is not regulated properly, it reachs around 14 psi in first and second turbo but fluctuates slightly, you can hear this when driving and i can also see this on my pfc (6 month old). (you can see small peaks and dips on the graph).

I have tried removing the conectors on the turbo pre-control and wastegate solenids and the boost pressure reachs 7psi and is maintained perfectly, (there is no fluctuation at all). Does anyone no if this proves the wastegate is working properly?

I have tried replacing the wastegate and turbo pre-control solenoids and the problem still remains. Since the boost is regulated at around 14 psi when the solenoids are pluged in im asuming the problem could be with sensing the pressure or an electrical fault.

Can anyone shed any light on these problems?

My car is a uk model rx7
recently rebuilt engine
new turbos
pfc
hks super drager exhaust
hks induction kit
hks boost pipes

Thanks for your help guys. :Thumbs-up
