Don\'t think a sock will stop surge mate but it\'ll filter out any crap in your tank.

a bosch 044 is not an intank pump so you cant fit it in your tank like the std pump.

if you got a bosch 040 that is an intank pump.

But a 044 will need to be fit inline

mine is fed from a walboro pump in the tank and this under the car.

heres mine (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0803/craign/ebay/DSC07406.jpg)

the last 3 digits of the part number printed on the pump will be 044 if thats the pump it is.

ive never seen anyone fit one in tank but if its a sealed unit don\'t see why it can\'t be done.

several people have fitted 044 in tank, I\'m having one fitted in mine, thing is, if you have a custom fuel cell to replace your standard tank you can mount the pump at the bottom and that removes the need for a swirl pot and feeder pump

true but mines not a track car so a fuel sell would be ott

wouldn\'t mind fitting my 044 intank tho would be one less thing to fail :P

We have fitted numerous in tank and also inline. They are a great pump, and whoever suplied the pump should be able to supply the sock and required fittings. If not we carry them in stock.

If memory serves, Bosch do two versions of the 044. Intank and external, on similar part numbers. Think I spotted this on a commercial parts website.

Reason I said it was interesting was because a tuner told me that technicially they where both external pumps - I know nothing myself! :chat

They can both be fitted in tank but both have differnet flow rate\'s, the 040 has a lower flow rate then the 044 so it wont suck ya tank dry as quickly as the 044 does!
