Title: 3,000 miles service
Post by: chrisJDM on February 03, 2007, 09:39:11 AM
I have been looking through some documents and am looking at doing a service myself for the first time.  I have been looking at what needs to be done every 3,000 miles, do you only have to do the oil change and oil filter at 3,000 miles??  I wll probably do the coolant aswell jsut to give it a refresh but is there anything else??? spark plugs every 10,000 yeh?  Its quite a standard engine but i have a air intake kit so dont need to do filter.

Its worth checking the plugs at the 3000 miles, but they shouldnt need changing.

Yeah have a look and clean, mine needed a bit of treatment.
Also clean your air filter you would be amazed how mucky they get.
That\'s it really and what you have already mentioned.
Enjoy!

I believe them to be good for 20k-25k miles.

I usually change mine every 15k (as I have never done that mileage yet thats just once for now when I first had the car! :chat )
