Title: Remember me anyone?
Post by: Sean on January 30, 2007, 09:26:13 AM
Hello strangers!
I have an MX5 now (I have my reasons!), and I\'m after different headlamps. I remember seeing gen 2 Rex\'s with twin square headlamps mounted underneath clear acrylic/glass that follows the same lines as the original tin covers. Any ideas if they would/could be made to fit a 5, and where I could find some?

I think the ones you are after can be found on Taka kaira website, takes a bit of trawling through the bodykits section to find them though :yes

Hows things?  Long time no see etc... :wave

Cheers guy\'s
The comp went well ..... but not well enough! Missed out on getting through to the final round by half a point! But to be honest, it was a close thing, lots of us were just half a point away.

What I\'m after for the 5 is to be able to have my lights on without the airbrakes coming on!

I would if I can find some small square/rectangular units that are \'E\' marked for MOT times, I can make housings, fittings and covers no problem, it\'s just finding the actual lamps to begin with. I\'ve looked evrywhere and come up with nowt!

I\'m on the lookour for e marked hella projectors as we speak!  If I ever get any luck, I\'ll post it on here.

With regards to the MOT problem, you just need a more understanding mechanic ;)

To be honest ...... screw the E mark, as long as they can produce a close enough pattern, I\'ll have \'em!!!!

Okay, I found this on hella USA, but not on the EU or UK sites:3Confused
Would that mean that they are no use to us?

I found a dealer in the US that can supply these (two dipped beam and two main beam units, making a pair of twins) for £170. It says they are SAE compliant, how close is that to our E mark?

Bit off your thread topic here, hope you dont mind.  What is the best forum / owners club for MX5 owners?  My girlfriend has one and I want to find a good resource for parts and technical help?

BTW - great little cars arent they?

Boingers? :3Confused

As for MX-5 forums, I tried MX-5 owners club, but when I asked them for advise on building a track car, they all stuck their noses up. So I found MX-5Nutz instead. They were much more helpful, and helped me get mine to how it is now ....... wrecked - haha!

I love MX5s mate, nice example there, although cage is a bit ott for the road.....but guessing you use it on the track lol

Will probably be getting one when I have to sell the Rex (house purchase this year possibly). My mum had one and it was great fun on summers days for a blast round country lanes.

The hardest part of owning one is dodging the \'hairdresser\' comments !!!

I don\'t get the hairdresser comments, cause it\'s a pretty quick one, but it is affecionatly known by my friends as the MX-5hite!:D

I thought it was a bit gutless, so I supercharged it, but they go well when turbo\'d too ;)
